Reading the full story, I think that the young man can have a reasonable chance of prevailing with his lawsuit. He voluntarily took a breath test, and blew 0.00. He voluntarily went to the police station, where his drug tests came back completely negative. And they STILL arrested him.
My husband (cop, Australia) gets filmed every other shift by people he interacts with and he couldn’t care less. He’s also got a body worn camera so it’s only fair they can film if they want. If nobody is doing anything wrong it’s no dramas.
I hope the kid counter-sues for damages and these cops straight up lose their pensions (I think losing their jobs is too much of an ask but having them eventually retiring in disgrace will be fair enough. SMH!
