The Terrible Hostel Reviews Are Funny, But The Owner’s Responses Are Hilarious

The other night my SO and I were coming home from a meal out and noticed an old run down hotel that was PACKED. We decided to look up the reviews of this hotel, because we are huge fans of Dan Bell’s Another Dirty Room. Upon reading about this hotel, we noticed a little hostel in a nearby town. We started reading the reviews to the Bessemer Hostel. The hostel itself is not super highly rated, but the reviews are so funny. They all read like the hostel is a place of nightmares and/or horror movies. We had a blast reading the reviews and quickly noticed the owner loves to respond to bad reviews. The owners responses are a combination of a conspiracy theorist and horror movie mad man. It was an adventure reading these and I needed to share the experience. These reviews are taken from Google, TripAdvisor, Expedia, and Hotels.com.

As a fan, I would love to see Dan Bell and his crew go to this Hostel and see what’s really happening.

I was unsure about the policy on including names, so I blacked out the names, however these are all public reviews. I did leave the owners name, as it is public record on the hostel website (and not just in the reviews).

This man is insane…

Claiming people ruined his floors is a common practice of the owner. In three years of reviews he’s claimed over 20 different individuals have ruined his floors
