As a creator of Steampunk Nixie clocks, I was given the brief to make something ‘totally crazy’ the Gemini in Tempore is the end result. The clock is made from old items, bits of vintage test equipment – clock parts, all items that would otherwise have been thrown away. The centrepiece on the clock is the Gyroscope out of a WWII Spitfire, all polished up and motorised. The clock displays the time in 2 time zones, and displays the temperature and humidity, on vintage Nixie Tube displays. On top is a Beam steam engine and a steam generator on the side – all which add to the details.
The clock took some 6 months from start to finish to put together, never made one of these before and didn’t really have any guide, so it is the contents of my brain on display for the world to see!
