The First Kinetic Steampunk Bar In The World Opens In Romania
1k+views
The first kinetic steampunk bar opens in Romania. Enigma Café from Cluj-Napoca is literally making history with its kinetic sculptures, which has sparked quite a share craze online after first appearing on the Facebook page belonging to The 6th Sense Interiors, the company which created the entire steampunk style design of the location.
The authors of the entire bar design concept, namely the Romanian based designers Alexandru Tohotan and Zoltan Zelenyak, previously responsible for the creation of two other worth mentioning works such as The Submarine and Joben Bistro, strike again, this time with an even more unique and clever design. And when we say unique, we mean worldwide unique. How’s that for brilliant?!
A giant moving clock which gives the impression that you are actually inside it, dozens of finely designed steampunk details, rotating wheels, metallic flowers opening up on the ceiling, a live moving bird, and even a robot which definitely takes you back to Giger’s own characters, these are the core attractions of the cool bar. And it is indeed quite a wonder of interior design.
The bar interior works took almost two years to come to life, but the efforts are well worthwhile, offering an unparalleled experience for having your regular cup of coffee at a bar.
So what do you say? Will you leap in time and visit the brand new Enigma Café in Cluj-Napoca, Iuliu Maniu12? I know we would!

Era timpul ca si la noi sa fie promovate si implementate ideile designerilor talentati....prin astfel de proiecte infrumusetam si dam culoare ambientalului......
WOW...
you guys never heard of Cross club in Prague then... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDvvLLg6Aqo
But in the link you posted Thomas nothing is kinetic. The only thing moving is the lamp in the ceiling and the people when they dance. It's steam-punk alright but not kinetic ...?
maybe you havent watched the video, the initial timelaps shows a big scuplter which is moving, there are three other ceiling lamps sortoff which are moving, one made from iron bottoms, one with the lights and other scuplters on the way, just because you didnt see it doesnt mean they are not there, also I can assure you that in the actual club there are many other "mobiles" on the walls and celilings which we couldnt include in our video. Please next time watch the actual video before you comment and also maybe find out in dictionary what "kinetic" means as well. cheers
