The Deluge
This is a portrait of a woman maintaining strength in a time of chaos. It began as a scene about rising sea levels and overtime became about the model. As I learned my model’s situation raising 2 children on her own and handling all that came with that responsibility, I decided to make it about her. This was a work that took 3 years to complete as I had other projects and moved it across the country. This is the largest oil painting I’ve ever done at 72”x50”.
