There are a countless number of fan arts about the popular series, but have you ever seen cinematic Stranger Things scenes with LEGO? No? Then let me introduce to you my new photo series!

The ST is specially suitable for a toy photography because it has a unique and spectacular imagery techniques. The lights, effects and scenes are perfect materials to create something new.

I started this LEGO photography – or I would say “Legography” – in June 2016. I am a big LEGO fan and I love creating stories with these little figures. I always try to take realistic and dynamic approach towards the photos with real sceneries. And now, I would like to introduce a completely different world. A miniature universe of the LEGO.

These images are based on the real scenes but in many cases I just adapted the original storyline with few changes.

Basically I don’t use Photoshop manipulations. I make indoor scenes or chose suitable places for them (for example – a park). I squirt water or blow smoke, if it’s necessary.

The natural effects (like mud or smoke) are very complicated to make because you cannot calculate what will happen. I spent many hours with each of these pictures.

Everyone loves secrets, the reality behind the pictures. I like behind the scenes photos and videos as well. So, I’m gonna show you some tricks and surprising photos from the world of LEGO photography. After the final pictures you can see how the series was made. You will get to see werk photos and a video with a little description.

In some cases, I can’t avoid the post manipulations but in these type of cases I always indicate which part/parts have Ps. effects on the image.

I hope you will like it! :)

I used the green background not for masking, but as a homogenous field.

I also created a simple, but dynamic, epic scene with kids and Demogorgon. Fictive, but it symbolizes the battle between them.

Cupboard Mind Flayer? Of course! I didn’t want to use pictures or posters, so I made silhouette of the shadow monster.

In this case the complete reflection is post process. The thing is that, at this scale, the surface of the water doesn’t provide the desired look. Plus, the ripples are too big for these little LEGO figurines.

I worked many hours with the scenery and tried to reach the suitable foggy look with pipe smoke and red lights.
