Over the past year, teen creative Rachel Wu has been selling her handmade bracelets for charity. All of the funds raised were through her Facebook page fundraisers called Dad and Rachel.

“When my dad passed away from liver cancer, I decided to start a project that would honor him,” said Rachel Wu. “My father was a doctor who made a difference in the lives of others so I wanted to make a difference too. These special fundraisers are my way of following in his footsteps.”

During her times at summer camp, she learned how to make multi-colored bracelets. Rachel uses pegboard to weave the bracelets and sometimes uses her fingers to weave them by hand. Her bracelets are a special thank you to everyone who contributes to her fundraiser. Whether $5 or $500, Rachel knows that every little bit helps.

Rachel’s first fundraiser was for the American Liver Foundation and she raised over $3000. Her next fundraiser will be for the Lustgarten Foundation for pancreatic cancer research in honor of her grandfather. Rachel hopes to unite people and raise awareness while helping others in need. Her handmade bracelets add color and joy to a worthy cause so join Rachel in her journey and follow her on Facebook @dadandrachel!
