The “I Matter” poetry and art competition is an innovative youth-founded and youth-led initiative that demonstrates to other students that youth can use the power of the pen to work towards social change. Launched in 2020 by 14-year old Isabella Hanson, after the tragic killing of George Floyd, "I Matter" calls upon students around the world to use poetry and art to advocate for social justice.
