Same-sex couples always endure challenges when they decide to have a baby. These challenges might vary from legal problems to societal views. And sometimes couples tend to think of over-the-top ways to overcome these challenges.
Like this couple of 67-year-old women, who decided to ask their adoptive daughter to be their surrogate. And even when the daughter was grossed out by the idea, they couldn’t let go of this questionable request.

This 24-year-old has two mothers, who are both 67 years old. She was adopted by them when she was 14. And the mothers always wanted a second kid.
And so, the second the OP turned 21, the mothers started pushing the idea that she should carry a baby for them. At first, it was a joke, but slowly it became a real thing. And that made the daughter terribly uncomfortable.
The reason why they want their adoptive daughter to carry their second baby is that they cannot adopt due to the age and jail time of one of the mothers. And, since they are quite old, neither of them can carry a baby anymore.
One day, the mothers invited their daughter over for dinner. The second she arrived, they started pushing the same baby narrative again. They showed her baby clothes and pictures of her as a baby and kept telling her how much they wanted a second one. As always, the OP tried to laugh it off, but it wasn’t a laughing matter for the mothers.
They said that they already have a donor, and they really wish for the OP to be a surrogate. That made the OP lose it. She disagreed with the idea by saying it was gross. Then she left the dinner, as she couldn’t stay there anymore.
However, the mothers didn’t want to take no for an answer. So they just kept calling the OP. On the call, they were yelling and guilt-tripping her by saying they have done so much for her, so she’s wrong to refuse to fulfill their request.

Well, the OP sure sounds like she’s caught in a pickle. We are pretty sure she won’t agree to this request, knowing how creeped out she is even by the idea of it. But, just for fun interest, let’s look at what types of surrogacy arrangements there are and maybe what would apply if the OP decided to go for it.
Essentially, there are two main types: commercial and altruistic. With commercial surrogacy, just as its name suggests, the surrogate receives a payment for her “service.” Also, the financial burden of pregnancy doesn’t fall on her either. It is usually covered by the parents as well.
The second type is altruistic surrogacy. It’s when the surrogate does not receive any payment for her “service”, but in some cases, financial pregnancy costs are still covered by the parents. Usually, altruistic surrogacy is taken by a person close to the parents, such as a friend or a family member.
So, according to the theoretical description, if the OP decided to carry her mothers’ baby, it would be altruistic surrogacy. But as far as we’re concerned, it is doubtful that she will agree to it, seeing how grossed out she was.
And she’s not the only one with this kind of opinion. Folks online full-heartedly supported the OP. They said that the women, who are almost 70 years old, should not have a new baby. Even if they feel young, they are too old to properly take care of a baby. Not only that, but there’s also a possibility that the baby will be left without parents before they turn 20. And even if the mothers still decide to have a baby despite previously mentioned reasons, it should not be birthed by their own daughter!
However, some other people did not buy the OP’s story. In fact, they called it an unbelievable fictional piece. For them, the fact that two nearly 70-year-olds wanted a brand new baby was the thing that gave away that it’s not true.
We guess that we’ll never know if the OP gave in to the pressure or if the story is even real. The conclusions are up for us to imagine.

Okay but "she" has responded to nothing in 3 days and multiple people have requested a response on how they have baby clothes and pictures of the kid they adopted at 14. Not impossible, but odd, and certainly easy enough to answer if it were true. Or even if it weren't, just make s**t up. Not just a troll, but a lazy troll. And by extension a lazy article.

So they want their daughter to grow and birth her own sibling. They seem very ignorant to the fact they're asking a 24 year to put her life on hold for 9+ months, potentially risk her health, her body, her future ability to have children so that they can have a baby. A baby that OP will no doubt then be asked to raise and provide for when they potentially cark it whilst that child is still a minor. And they think she's being selfish saying no?! I believe they no longer even have one child in their lives.

Dude when I heard Robert Deniro was having a kid at his age I was like... "how is that fair to the child when they won't get to have as much time w/ him & he's going to leave his wife who is way younger after he passes w/ this burden to carry on her own..." but 2 elderly parents? That's messed up dude. It's sad enough when you're 27 & your dad passes away like me.... & I got a long life w/ him. Not long enough. But I got to have him in my life for all of my formative years & more. You'd have to live to be nearly 100 years old to be able to give that to your kid. Losing my dad has been the single hardest thing I have ever been thru. N I was a fully Formed adult when I lost him. Why would you willingly put your child in a position where they are going to have to say goodbye to you, most likely before they're even old enough to be able to take care of themselves afterwards. Then when these two die, who takes care of the child? The sister?

My uncle (mother’s brother) had a kid at 65 (his wife was 20+ years younger.) EVERYONE in the family thought it was horribly selfish and that my poor cousin would be fatherless before he was 18. Well, luckily(?) my cousin recently turned 18 and my uncle is still alive… of course, now he’s 80+ years old and starting to develop health issues/dementia… as a kid who was forced into caring for a disabled parent starting at age 18, I hope my cousin bails, goes to college across the country, and does NOT stay/feel obligated to care for his selfish, geriatric father. At least his mom is way younger, but man :( my dad was fully disabled (catastrophic brain injury) for 21 years. He died in 2021. I entirely lost my 20s and 30s to helping care for him at home. I loved him dearly, but I’m a mess now XD

I laughed so hard at this. My volunteer org won't even adopt a kitten to you if you are over 65 unless you have a clear plan for who will take the kitten if/when something happens to you! If something happens to that baby before it is a grown up, who do you think will wind up raising? Their daughter, of course! 60 isn't old, but kittens and kids are a lot of work and will still be around 10+ years later!

This is an outrageous request of the adoptive mothers... you don't adopt a child with a view of using her in that way. Re the age 14 adoption, but then adding the baby photos and clothing comment..I'm wondering if she meant either being 14wks old, or 14mths old.

NTA. This is inappropriate in SO many ways. For one thing, OP'S mothers are in their late 60's. They are WA-A-A-A-Y past the time to add to their family. For another, OP has her own life to live. The last thing she needs is to be taking care of an infant/child/teen that she never wanted to create. Most likely, her moms would come up with various excuses as to why they couldn't parent the child THEY wanted: "We're going out of town; we need you to babysit," "She/He's YOUR baby," " We're FA-A-A-A-MILY!," and so on. OP would be permanently trapped in that role, and end up legally responsible for the baby, should something happen to either or both of them. OP should go NC for at least six months. Afterwards, she should tell her moms that the answer is "No!" and the discussion is over. Bring it up again, and it's a permanent NC. What happens from that point on is entirely up to them.

My husband was abandoned at birth and went through three foster cares and he has stuff from when he was a baby/child. It’s not impossible if they store it in a box safely. And who wants a kid at 67? You’re at retirement age. You’ll probably pass away by the time the kid is an adult logically. I wouldn’t want kids when I was older and I can’t imagine wanting kids beyond age 50. I started when I was in my 20’s. I had a stable income, house and energy. I have friends having kids in their ‘40’s and they’re exhausted all the time and have to stay home to raise another kid so not as much income. Nope nope and nope

Look, if this is true story (and that's a big if) i kinda understand that they asked her. Where i live, surogacy as is known in America is ilegal. The only one legal way how to get a surogate here is to ask your sister or mother, so for me, the fact they asked is not a problem for me. What makes them AH is the way they treated their daughter after she said no. It's a huge thing to ask someone, and they're entitled to give a no as an answer....

I was raised by parents who were older, my mother 37 and my father 42. Both had health problems so they were really to tired to put up with a young Childs wants and needs. I was never taken to or allowed to be involved in sports or activities outside the home. I was an only child for nearly seven years and then they had a set of twins which just made things worse. All we did was work and visit relatives whose kids were old enough to be my parents. I would never impose my wants to have a child at an advanced age on any youngster....it's just not fair.

I mean, they're both 70 bro. There's no narrative to slant. That's messed up to be having a kid that will most likely be watching you die before they're even old enough to take care of themselves w/out going into the foster care system.... especially considering that the sister/daughter doesn't want to be apart of it & it wouldn't be her responsibility to then adopt that child once they die. That's cruel. I think it's cruel enough when ppl like Robert deniro have kids at his age w/ a younger woman.... but both parents being literal senior citizens? Extra cruel.
