A well-made ad is designed to hold your attention and stay in your memory for a long time, right? Imagine if suddenly heroes and villains of our favorite movies decide to make extra money and endorse some products.
This is exactly what the Russian illustrator Lesya Guseva did, she created fictional ads with characters from iconic films.
Go down the page and see Superman making his underwear announcement and The Joker as a cosmetics ambassador.
Aquaman - Shampoo
"Not only mermaids envy his hair but also Shakira herself. The secret is simple. The world’s number one shampoo. (Since we don’t want dandruff and hair falling out in the ocean?) There were also certain other ideas - to make him the face of Old Spice, instead of that weird guy on the horse. Or ask him to advertise nasal spray Aquamaris. Or at least fish oil vitamins."
Superman - Underwear
"I think Calvin Klein panties should be presented by the one and only ambassador - Superman! Who else would merchandise it non-stop. Although in a Gillette ad (for super-aero-dynamic flight), as well as airlines, and hair gel, and tights, he might as well make lots of money."
Iron Man - Iron
"As we say it in Russia, an iron is a women’s standard of a real man - it is hot, it warms and drinks only water. Who else but Ironman would advertise it. Well, girls, would you like to get this iron home? Besides irons Tony Stark might as well advertise electric lights, cars, WD-40, and also compete with Superman for Gillette contract."
The Joker - Cosmetics
"This bad guy knows a lot more about cool cosmetics than we do! Which lipstick is the most lasting, which shadows do not crease, and which foundation is super-long wearing... I think that any cosmetic company would kill to have him. Especially such top one like Urban Decay."
Venom - Toothpaste
Bruce Wayne - Fabric Softener
"Well, in case of Bruce Wayne, it is simple. He could be ambassador of fabric softener “Laska - magic of black”, or deodorant Rexona, that doesn’t leave white marks. Because he needs to maintain his reputation. If not, "Men in black" who could compete with him."
Cat Woman - Whiskey
"Whiskas? Oh, come on, what’s Whiskas! A true lady would not advertise this? But whiskey...Perfect in my mind."
