Ex-Subway Employee Goes Viral For Sharing This Cursed Subway Sandwich Story

As everyone probably knows, tastes differ. Especially when it comes to food. Someone likes gourmet haute cuisine, and someone is really crazy about such a simple and native mac and cheese. How many people – so many opinions.

But sometimes there are completely extreme cases that actually stagger the imagination so much that they remain in the memory of witnesses for years, and sometimes for their lives. Even if this witness was working at Subway at the time, which means they saw thousands of various orders.

For example, like Twitter user Garlic, who started a whole thread about strange orders, talking about the most unusual sandwich she had ever seen in her entire life. The initial tweet became extremely popular, gaining over 146.8K likes and nearly 18.8K retweets.

So, the Original Poster, in her early twenties, worked at Subway. The OP admits that she has seen a lot of strange orders, but the very sandwich that the story will be about continues to appear in her nightmares.

A group of high school-aged kids walked into the cafe, and one girl ordered a sandwich with ranch dressing

It was at the very beginning of the evening shift, around 5 or 6 PM. A whole group of high school-aged kids walk into the cafe, and OP comes out to serve one of the girls. She asks for the biggest baguette, with double provolone and double American cheese. No vegetables or sauces… wait, no… ranch, please.

So the OP starts pouring the sauce over the sandwich. Once, twice… the client is silent, showing with her whole appearance: “Just go on!” The sauce begins to drip a little from the edges, but the girl remains completely unperturbed.

When the sauce bottle was almost empty, the girl just asked for another bottle

As the sandwich was almost hidden under the copious mass of ranch, OP felt like she was running out of sauce in her bottle. The girl encouraged her: “Do you have another bottle?” In dismay, the author of the post turned her gaze to the manager, but he acted in direct accordance with the principle “The customer is always right.”

The girl finally sat at her table and began to eat that monstrous sandwich

At the beginning of the second bottle, when the sandwich itself was no longer visible, the girl finally stopped. She didn’t ask for salt or pepper, and the OP packed this monster with great difficulty. The girl thanked her, and then, joining her friends at the table, began to calmly absorb it.

The most striking thing, as the OP admits, is that during all this time, the girl was absolutely calm, did not smile, did not show any embarrassment, and generally behaved as if such sandwiches were completely ordinary for her. But the OP herself, as we have already said, over the following years, more than once recalled this really strange case.

People in the comments recalled a lot of weird orders – one was even from Matthew McConaughey

We must say that people in the comments immediately began to recall the strangest cases from their own memory. For example, one of the commenters’ 13-year-old son once asked for a chocolate chip bagel with salmon cream cheese – and not only asked, but even ate it with apparent pleasure! And another customer once ordered a Subway with cookies, but with a side of dijon mustard for dipping the cookies.

By the way, it turns out that not only ordinary people but also celebrities are subject to such food oddities. For example, one of the commenters, who also worked at Subway at one time, recalled that once, back in 2006, Matthew McConaughey came to them and ordered the Tuna – but toasted. The smell, in the end, was completely unbearable, but the famous actor quite liked it…

For some reason, we are sure that you have your own memories associated with weird orders, so we look forward to your comments. In the meantime, you can still read our selection of “secret ingredients” that, according to readers, can make any dish completely delicious. Well, at least to their personal taste…

I worked at a pizza place with a soup and salad bar. People would take the soup bowls and fill them with ranch, and eat it with a spoon, like a soup. Saw a guy with a straw in his bowl of ranch. Ranch people are addicts!

I would get a bowl of ranch, but for dipping my pizza in it. I guess my habit hasn’t reached straw level yet lol

I ordered a BLT (bacon, lettuce, tomato) sandwich at Subway for a work function. They delivered a bacon sandwich because I didnt ask for lettuce and tomato. Um, its in the name of the sandwich? Still bitter 25 years later, LMAO.

I can't go to Subway because of an experience like that. I looked at the pictures and ordered "Sandwich". She asked what I wanted on it. I, confused by them not knowing what was on their own sandwiches, asked what came on it. She asked what I wanted on it. This did not help my confusion. We went around for about 5 minutes before I told her to forget it and went somewhere else. Now I feel panicked about even going into a Subway.

You know those Japanese steak houses that cook in front of you? I used to work at one a loooong time ago and they had a white mayo-based sauce (some call it yum yum sauce) that a guy once used to turn his food into a literal soup. He kept asking the chef for more and more until you couldn't even see what was on his plate. Then he mixed it all up with a soup spoon like a total madman, sauce spilling over the edges of the plate. Much like the Subway girl, my mind often drifts to that image randomly, making me shudder...not only did it look gross, but it was probably the most unhealthy meal anyone could ever eat. Yuck!
