I am a 22-year-old self-taught Dutch artist named Red. I've been making comics for a year or two already, but found my motivation was starting to crumble.

Despite searching in shelters, I couldn't find a cat that could live in my tiny apartment. Then I found her. Sweety is a young Ragdoll cat and was rescued/adopted from a breeder after having two litters. When I brought Sweety home, I saw all the silly little quirks she had, the way she opened up to me over time, and the bond we started to form. Inspiration struck, and since then I've been making two comics a week about the silly shenanigans she gets up to.

Have you tried holding her differently? I can imagine a cat being like "hey, I wanna be held and cuddled" only to realize "wait, nonono, this isn't actually comfortable!". One of my parents' cats doesn't mind being cradled like a baby (likes it, even), but her brother was never really comfortable like that. He preferred to stand on his feet even when being cuddled. I had a way of holding him that involved him basically sitting on the palm of my left hand while leaning his shoulder onto my chest. That was acceptable to him.

My cat is just like this. I've tried holding her several different ways, but always the cuddling is good for no more than 10 seconds.

Just found a 6-8 week old kitten hiding in one of our bushes yesterday. We had been hearing a cat (her) meow for a couple days already, thought it might be injured, but could never determine where the sound was coming from. She is small but fearless around our dog and other three cats. And she has the LOUDEST meow when she wants to be heard. Amazing a cat who is so tiny she barely registers on a scale can have a meow as big as an elephant!

Some cats do not really care about food. Some cats only think about food. I have two cats, one of them is thin and the other one on just too heavy. Not mega chonk but close. She constatnly tries to steal food from our dogs, she steals from humans, she eats all the food that is provided to her instantly.

When a cat stands in your way with its side toward you, it's a body language sign meaning "please stop". They do it with other animals, too.

My cat once licked up a spider (one of those who almost only consist of legs ... Weberknecht, Schneider in german) and puked it out again right afterwards. Still moving ... 4 or 5 legs still in place ... cleaned the puke off and released the spider - who survives that deserves to survive further!

My Pretzel Cat gives kisses. If I make a kissy sound, he will run across the room to give me kisses. It's always followed up with a love bite on the cheek. It freaked me out the first time he did it, but he never bites hard, so it's fine. His brother thinks it's all completely ridiculous and wants no part of it.
