We are all born nude .Children are the most innocent things there are ! It isn't wrong to see naked children unless you as the viewer sexualise the image which is wrong but most people will simply see a beautiful healthy child. It is in the eye of the beholder ! If you see nude children as sexual then you have a problem . If you see nude children as wrong and inappropriate then you have the problem. Some peoples on this earth still live their lives naked . There is nothing inherently wrong with nudity at any age.It is our most pure state.Nudity doesn't always translate into sexuality ! We must not let evil win . Most people will simply appreciate the natural beauty in these images. There may be the rare few people who find it titillating but it would be sad to allow these seriously ill people to control how we see children. This add is so tasteful. There are no genitals .I thought all the images were very touching and respectful; beautiful and real !

Don't know. Where I'm from it's normal to see statues or paintings of naked children/people in the park or at church. It's also not unusual to see kids up to ~8 years play naked at the beach or in the swimming pool. Might be a cultural thing.

Probably. But it would probably be the same as seeing them in bathing suits since they didnt actually show any parts.

I did get a hint of inappropriateness with the 16 year old especially so I see what you mean but I suppose the intention was to show us in our natural forms, which we can't keep interpreting sexually.

The problem is in the sexualizing, not in the nudity. It's terrible what your friend went through, BUT it was her father's dirty intentions that made the nudity taboo, it is not a bad thing by itself. You also have to remember that outside of America nudity is not as big a deal. European women in some places can walk around topless and no one bats an eye or even notices. America has vilified nudity thanks to our Puritan past, and now hyper-sexualized it. I don't make it a point to walk around my house naked b/c quite frankly I don't like what I see, but my kid's favorite past time is "naked time" and I figure "whatever makes you happy kid, don't sit on the wrong thing lol". Also, knowing photography the minors were most likely wearing some garment like nude colored panties for the part of their body that wasn't being photographed...even just for temperature comfort. I commend your thoughtfulness, but it's probably unnecessary for this particular thing.

Nicky, in this case I think yes, you are the only one. Nothing was shown as inappropriate. Besides I know as kids both me and my sister used to run around without shirts on (I'm a guy), given that that was the late 70s and early 80s and people weren't as sensitive as they seem to be now.

I absolutely agree that pictures of exploited children are unconscionable. But if you see that particular picture as sexual, then the problem is you.

Just adding to my comment below as you replied to it.Context is everything.Just because you had a friend that was sexually abused & asked to parade before her fathers friends should not colour your view of the whole world. I personally experienced a similar situation as a child but with a baby sitter ,not my father but I refuse to let that experience scar the beauty around me. This beautiful advertisement made in Norway does not reflect your friends or my experience. The intent (and intent is everything) is honest and open. You speak of the fact the child had to be naked in front of the photographer and that this would be "daunting" but in Norway nudity is not "daunting" despite the cold climate & the child would think nothing of it. Where you are born maybe children are wrapped in blankets and kept out of sight but where I was born they are placed into the dappled sunshine on the blanket , not wrapped in it & they play nude for many years especially by the sea.
