Abused Dog Petted For The First Time (Don’t Watch With Sound If You’re Sensitive)

Community member
The dog in the video below was abused so much that when a kind-hearted woman Monica Mitreanu tried to calm the poor soul by petting him, he was so petrified, that a gentle, loving touch seemed like a threat to him.
This happened on November 11th in Breasta animal shelter in Craiova, Romania. Craiova is known as “The European Capital of Canine Cruelty” for the brutal handling of shelter animals. Luckily, the pooch learned to trust humans again, and has recently found himself a home in the UK.

What do you think ?
Whoever hurt this dog so much deserves a slow and painful death.
I would burn those who did this
Ice bear agrees, also, Ice bear has torches

No you wouldn't you stupid cunt, and if you think you could try think about this: if the person did this to a dog, what do you think they'd do to you?... Gotta love the moronic boastful comments of people who wouldn't harm a fly but would a person.
An extremely slow painful death!!!
Amen!!
What absolute idiots I was in total tears watching this I just don't know how someone would find joy in hurting such a beautiful creature
I agree
I would throw them in a tub of boiling water and watch them scream and beg for mercy ( the tub would still be on fire to make sure the water does not cool).
They need flaying very slowly, what evil bas*ARDs
I agree
There is not enough punishment available for people that abuse animals. They are evil beings. Thank God for the loving touch and soft hearts of all the volunteers and foster families that take these wounded abused animals into their homes and turn their lives around.
Maybe a little less of the stroking and maybe just sitting there close, but no hands? Just touching. Hands and feet are usually the pain givers. They have to come to you.
totally agree! I know the woman had good intentions, but I feel like everything she did was wrong - backing the dog to the corner, holding his head when he obviously didn't want to and not letting him go. I'm not critizing her, but this wasn't really the best example of building trust. It would be much better to just let him get used to her presence and then, after a looong time, start to slowly and carefully attempting to touch him.
This dog is so traumatized she probably backed herself into a corner, and the only way for them to understand you specifically will not hurt them is to show them. Approach slowly, touch gently, smile and sweet talk. I work as a dog groomer, a highly experienced one and a lot of the same training and trust building techniques go into the job. The only way to get the dog to trust you is to show them in a kind mattered way you are trustworthy. And it's the same all around in training, abuse, grooming, bringing home a new puppy. This dog needs to relearn not all touch is bad and this is the exact right way to do it, with love, gentle touch, and lots and lots of patience.
He seems just fine now. :D https://www.facebook.com/monica.mitreanu/videos/vb.100003698566370/730541440412468/?type=2&theater
Yes, just sitting down next to him would have probably been better, but she did this with kindness in mind and towards the end he/she is accepting of her pets, so no harm done really. Hope she was the one to adopt and take this poor creature home with her....dear souls, both of them, bless them both.
The dog must understand that not everyone will hurt him I know what you mean but if he doesn't learn he'll be scared of hands and feet for h
As a lifelong rescuer, petting was absolutely necessary. Sitting there without interaction would have been terrifying.
But they have to learn that not all people are idiots and some are kind and actually have a heart
