Heartbreaking Picture Of 89-Year-Old Popsicle Seller Makes Internet Donate Him More Than $250,000

As Joel Cervantes Macias was driving in the Little Village area of Chicago, he saw an elderly man struggling to push a popsicle cart. The man was 89-year-old Fidencio Sanchez. He and his wife had recently lost their only daughter and they’d been selling paletas, a type of Mexican popsicle, to pay the bills. As his wife had fallen ill however, Fidencio had no choice but to push the cart alone.
“It broke my heart seeing this man that should be enjoying retirement still working at this age,” wrote Macias. So wanting to help the old man in some way, he bought 20 popsicles for $50. Macias and his friend Joe Loera also started a GoFundMe campaign to raise $3,000 for Fidencio and his wife. And the internet responded in epic fashion by donating over $250,000 USD in just five days! The campaign is still open, so if you’d like to make a donation then head on over to GoFundMe.

See, the Internet does have a lot of bad parts. But there is also a lot of good things that we can do, this is a great example of that.
Although it's sad this man is such a great example. You have plenty of much younger people who'd rather live off of their parents than do any kind of work that will cause them to break a sweat or that they feel is beneath. In life you do what you have to do support yourself and your family.
The immediate irony...Katrina Green above makes an excellent point about this as an example of the good part of internet, and here we go ruining it by bad mouthing the young. oh, internet!

What's sad about an elderly gentleman being donated 250,000 Dollars? Also, is that a horrific generalisation about the youth of today, I hear? Yes, yes it is. . .
It's sad because he is struggling at his age not because he received $250,000. But wouldn't that be obvious. Do you really think I was saying it's sad that he got money Lol. Also I said "plenty of younger people" not all. So then that is not a generalization. Your not very intelligent and you don't comprehend what you read very well. And that really is sad.
