There’s something especially expressive about a senior dog’s face. Gray muzzles, softened features, and a few signs of age may reveal the years behind them, but they also make every portrait feel as though there is an entire lifetime of stories hiding just beneath the surface.

German photographer Christian Vieler brings those personalities to the forefront. His portraits don’t treat age as something to hide or soften. Instead, they celebrate the character that comes with it, capturing everything from gentle expressions and curious glances to the wonderfully goofy quirks that make each dog unmistakably their own. Bored Panda has previously shared two collections of Vieler’s senior dog portraits, and today we’re returning with another. This latest selection once again shows just how much personality can fit into a single frame, and why a silver muzzle can make an already lovable face even harder to resist.
