It's all over! After eight long seasons over what feels like forever, Game of Thrones has come to an end, leaving fans enthralled, bereft, disappointed, and, for some, a little angry with how it all went down. And let's not forget the media outlets, who will have to find something else to write about now that this worldwide cultural phenomenon has passed us by.
It goes without saying that the eagerly anticipated Game of Thrones finale has spawned an absolute deluge of hilariously funny memes. Some amusing, some insightful, they are all essential viewing for all you GoT fans out there, to get one final fix before the neverending winter descends.
So like Maisie Williams, we are all just here for the Game of Thrones memes now. Scroll down below to check out this list dedicated to the famous HBO series, compiled one final time by Bored Panda, and let us know what you think about the ending in the comments!

This one should be on top.. He is an amazing actor and the perfect for the role as Tyrion.
Also lets apreciate that they actually casted an actor with achondroplasia instead of a person with higher stature. You barely see dwarfs in movies and usually they play secondary and comic roles. I loved seeing Peter and I am sure that his role helped people to see them as complete normal people instead of a funny thing to show in tv
He was my favorite actor in the show the whole time I loved his character and I think he's an amazing actor
Love him. Can't wait to see him in other things. There was a dwarf in Brooklyn years ago, part of the boys who owned a lion, I can see him playing him. Pay attention Scorccese!
Now that the behemoth that was Game of Thrones is over, what happens to the fan sites, YouTube channels and Facebook groups that built an entire culture out of discussing it? To find out, Bored Panda spoke to Christian, who runs the popular page Game of Thrones Fans. "I hope that we will get some content over time, like history and lore videos on YouTube, prequels, maybe sequels even! Who knows? he told us. "Also, everyone is waiting for George to finish his book, obviously."
"But my plan is to promote good TV shows like I always did. Hopefully I will find a way because that is what I love the most! I would love it if I could do that till the day I die."
"I already put some ideas in motion like my page Binge Watchers where i would like to suggest some good tv shows/ series for the fans to watch and check out."
My heart broke seeing him in pain! Ah, the power of fictional characters!
Load More Replies...Proof that Dragons are sentient belong most animals which is both cool and scary
My favorite part of the finale was the dragon and what he did to the throne and carrying his mother away. I also thought that John's reunions with ghost was great too
This was my favorite part. He knew that his "mom" was toxic at this point and that Jon had no choice. I think he knew that has she taken the throw she would've killed many more innocents. I think that's why he freaked out so bad. Not only did he melt said throne, but the emotion behind it..... it was amazing.
Very somber moment. One must wonder where he flew off to with his beloved Mother.
Or he lashed out in the direction of the throne, because Jon is a Targarian so trying to burn him would be pointless...
Despite some misgivings about the final season overall, Christian believes the show finished in a satisfactory way. "For sure the ending gave fans some type of closure even tho most of them aren't happy to see who ended up on the Throne," he told us. "Most of fans blame sloppy Game of Thrones plot writing for that but I'm not so sure."
"After a lot of years following Game of Thrones there will just be this void now it's finished and I don't think any prequel or spin-off can fill that one."
"The working title for the first prequel is Bloodmoon so I guess it has something to do with the Targaryens, but I might be wrong. My wish would be to see Robert's rebellion and the Targaryen civil war on the big screen, and I think most of the fans will agree with me on this one."
She dragged Bran to Winterfel, then decided to go back to the Swamps, to be with her familly when the Walkers would arrive. Bran gave 0 f**k, she got upstet, reminded him, Jojen and Hodor's death. Still no reaction of Bran... I can't remind anyone refearing to the fate of the Swamps in season 8. I think they are supposed to live more in the south. Maybe she's safe
Load More Replies...I was hoping she was gunna be the one wheeling bran in at the very end lol could of thrown us one bone writers.
We at least discovered who had been pushing Bran about in the final episode
"Also some fans are speculating that we might see some of Arya's adventures west as a spin-off on HBO but who knows! All us Game of Thrones fans have left to do is to wait and see."
Apart from an Arya's spin-off, Christian can see two others possibly happening one day. "I think Grey Worm freeing the island of Naath would make a great series," he said. "Also Jon Snow and Tormunds' story beyond the wall, since they didn't seem like they would go back to the wall."
What do you think? Would you like to see some Game of Thrones cast in spin-offs and prequels? Or would you rather just wait for George RR Martin, the master storyteller himself, to end it properly in his books? Scroll down below to check out some of the best memes in the meantime, and let us know what you think in the comments!
nonsense nothing can melt iron you need oxygen and ethane and an closed furnace to melt it you need 1,538 °C. not a cold open area. >>> stupid mistakes.
The most terrifying part of the show were her screams as she was burned alive.
people complain about character development but praise the throw backs of Arya never wanting to be a queen and exploring the west. So she never developed...
I disagree with your assessment of the other character's "valid" development.
Hahaha! Though I did always think from the beginning if Sersei had just let the North do it's own thing it would have saved her a feckload of trouble, much like Europe 😋
Well, if you want to go there, alottt of things would've been different if Ned had just stay in the North
Load More Replies...If the North isn't one of the Six Kingdoms, how can Bran, from the North, be its King?
The North was one of the 7 kingdoms. The three eyed raven has no ties to any place.
Load More Replies...To everyone who agrees with this: As much as I'd like to, do you REALLY think that, if Jon stayed, word would NOT have gotten back to Grey Worm in Naath eventually, and he'd pack up the Unsullied and high-tail it back to Westeros ASAP to try and kick some Northern butt? Just sayin'...
if bran decided not to send jon, then his accountability is in question.
Also, I think that, at that moment, Jon was sick and tired of all the politics. He united the world against the Night King, he prevented the rise of the sexy blonde Hitler, that's more than you could ask of a man...
Load More Replies...The other Lords wanted John dead as well. Ppl on this bandwagon are thick
The Dothraki were still in King's Landing, and even though they didn't had a clear leader among them, they still would have been clearly pissed at Jon for murdering Dany.
True but its a device to get Jon to the true North where he was always going to end up.
If they only knew to switch the placement of the wheels he could roll himself around somewhat
Because there is a book with concrete ending? Perhaps?
Load More Replies...If I remember right, and I probably don't, but didn't Ned say to Cat that he was going to sleep on Robert's request to be his Hand and decide in the morning?
Actually Bran could have had that dream, after the fall. Making himself into the king right before waking up. More likely than dreaming about what happens after you've been beheaded
This idea, that everything is just someone's dream, also crossed my mind, while watching episodes 5 & 6 / season 8. In that case, the final would be more acceptable. But than, we need one more episode. Or one more season.
Technically they did ride off into the Woods together.
Load More Replies...Yeah, Tormund finally got a bride from the North, after being rejected by Brienne of Tarth. Brunette over blonde!😁
Yep, there was grass beginning to grow through the snow. They'll live happily ever after in paradise once the place thaws out.
I was wondering in the beginning of the episode, where is the white horse? and better yet where did cuts and bruises on her face go??
It's assumed that it's weeks later. I think Tyrian even mentions it.
Load More Replies...The city died. Death rode in on a pale horse (biblical allusion); Arya rode out, because she is an agent of Death.
Thank you- someone understands symbolism and literary theory on the Internet! I also thought the horse was symbolic of Arya choosing to live instead of focusing entirely on revenge. The little girl she tries to save and tragically couldn’t was carrying a little horse toy.
Load More Replies...The white horse and pale horse are 2 different ones. White's rider was conquest, and pale's was death. Arya's horse was white.
Load More Replies...Arya needed a way out of the city before it killed her. Here's a horse. Also, let's take a second to look at the Carnage... Not rocket science
They were always on their own really , Ned Stark and Robert Lancaster were good friends.
Bran isn't king because he's a Stark. He's king because he's impartial and the need to break the tradition of family/bloodline automatically meaning you're king. It's a step towards a pseudo democracy.
Sansa: And his baby-making parts are broken too! Bran: Thanks sis, public knowledge apparently.
Seriously... Off all the possible nicknames, that's the one he went with? He can see thru time! He can warg! So you go with "the broken?!"
Ah, who could forget the geezer, such an important character
Load More Replies...She should have been Greyworm and then killed Dany so Jon wouldn't have to
The perfect ending is: Jon goes to Dany (as in the show), but as he pulls a dagger, Grey Worm flies in and knocks Jon to the ground. Holding a sword at Jon's throat, Dany instructs him to kill Jon. Grey Worm hesitates. Dany commands Grey Worm to kill the traitor bastard. Grey Worm pivots and in one fell swoop removes Dany's pretty head from her shoulders. Jon is freaked out until Grey Worm peels back his face to show that its Arya the supreme kingslayer!
Swapping faces was only a part of being 'no one'. It was said no one could kill the night king, so 'no one' did!
She changed tremendously after Khals death from a woman she had mercy on and betrayed her.
do you... do you not get the reference or...?
Load More Replies...I think I screamed something along those lines or Sansa who grew from torture and daring escapes into a strong and great leader.
Guys, they don't mean that he has the best personal life story, he has the best story to tell: everything that ever happened in the 7 kingdoms.
No one seems to get this. Honestly for as many people complaining the ending was too simple people seem to be missing a lot
Load More Replies...Also Jon, the last Targaryan, who freed the Wildlings, died, came back to life, rallied everyone together to kill the white walkers And killed the mad queen.
He will be an omniscient king therefore he can't be bias. I think he's the best choice despite the reasoning which is bs. Even Tyrion has a good story. He's been imprisoned how many times? He has advised several leaders throughout the series and faced death many times. Everyone has a suitable story.
There's A LOT of Bran's story that was not included in the show.
Shape shifting, aka warging, is actually one of Brans abilities. Arya has face swap, which is also cool.
Or Jon,who voluntarily joined the Nights Watch, befriended the Wildlings, saved the Wildlings, became Lord Commander, got killed for it,got brought back to life, took back the North, became King in the North, bent the knee to someone he loved, killed the person he loved 'cause she MURDERED the entirety of King's Landing, and then got sent straight back to the Nights Watch.
Actually BRAN is the only one with no story. Even the fat kid that gave Arya bread had better story.
The only part of the season that really satisfied me (and a lot of people too)
What happened to all the other dire wolves..Did they ALL die??? They seem to be quickly forgotten :(
Shout out to all of us wheelchair Kings and queens. Thanks Ehlers Danlos I shall hereby be known as Monica the Broken first of her name ruler of pugs
He was already secretly enloved in Tormund. Just waited for the occasion to go back to Black Castle.
I’m still picturing the few Dothraki left just wandering around the country side like well we have no women to make more kids better go back to old ways
Literally no one knows, Bran only sees what someone else has seen before. No one has ever seen what's west of Westeros.
West of Westeros is the land of awesome Arya based spin offs that I'd definitely watch!
I get that unsettling feeling that Bran is somewhat of a bad guy, just look how he looks at other characters (even to Jon). I felt like he's been a bad guy all along, adding to the theory that Bran is the Night King. If Bran became the king of Westoros, then that means that the Night King has won. You may not believe me, but I just get that unsettling feeling about Bran. Idk, you'd be the judge.
Bran knows. Bran knows everything. The ultimate creeper. Muhahaha
I think people are missing his point. Bran being the three eyed raven, knows EVERYONES stories that they all lived through. He has thousands of stories to tell and know because he can relive history due to his powers. Not meaning his own personal story n what he’s been through as we saw it in the show.
Of the 20 shown, only 4 is still alive. Brienne is not an option, then there is Sansa, Jon, Tyrion, and Bran. If it was Jon of Tyrion it would start a war, so that leave Sansa and Bran. And Sansa came across as power hungry....
Why is Brienne not an option? She's highborn after all.
Load More Replies...Until the final episode I kept wondering why there even was a Bran. The most boring character of the whole story.
Everyone else would have been just as good. My money was on Gendry till the end
I guess for Jon was more important knowing the truth about his real mother and that Ned indeed honored his promise to Lyanna about protecting him no matter what.
And that Ned truly was an honorable man and didn't go whoring around on Catelyn then force her to raise his real bastard. That's why I thought it best Jon told his family the truth. Ned got so much s**t, was called a hypocrite yet he bore it all to keep his word.
Load More Replies...Except that whole plot, with Jon "abandoning" her, was the final straw to make Daenerys lose it completely.
Rhaegar's first son was named Aegon, why give his third the same name?
What if the Prequel is about the Targaryans and Jon portrays his dad!! That would be awesome 🙌🏻
I said if they would've sheltered in the dragon skull when the room was collapsing they would've survived (except Jaime he would've died slowly)
Well, Jaime was mortally wounded anyways. He knew he was dying and just wanted her to die too.
Maybe Cersei didn't want to move because she knew Jamie was hurt and wouldn't make it and she couldn't live without Jamie.
Like in real life no one ever dies of heavy objects falling on them, because they can just look up and step aside. Just like people don't fall after running off of a cliff until they look down and notice it.
Jamie wanted to die, as he was dying anyway..lets just take the sister with him..of course there was room to get away..I think this was done on purpose!
Because they knew the roof was gonna cave right there and not over there?
Yup. I's amazing how fast everything regenerates in this show. One episode all Dothraki are dead, then it's just "half" who died, same with the Unsullied (did they reproduce by spores?). One episode King's Landing is worst than Hiroshima, next episode all the important buildings are still there so Brienne can write about Jaime in a book, one episode the Red Keep is destroyed and completely crumbles over Jaime& Cersei, next episode Tyrion easily finds the bodies under a random thin layer of bricks...
Here's the thing that I saw when I first watched it... you could see the roof falling in a line, coming toward them. I don't understand why they didn't even try to move out of the way, they just stood there! Also, the fact that they were barely buried under 1 layer of bricks would not have killed them!
I would like to know what kind of fire and flames of Drogon can melt iron and steel or even break the walls and buildings ... nonsense... you need Oxygen and ethane and almost 15 minutes of time in closed furnace then maybe you can melt it 1,538 °C >>>> not cold open area. very stupid mistakes.
I wondered how good that story was if it didn´t take Bran that long to tell Tyrion about it (for the duration of the battle against the Night KIng)
I think they all got tired of the whole thing. Succes is a heavy burden. So, they finished the job before closing time.
Well it makes sense, because that's around the time I realized dragons could actually easily tear down walls.
It just felt like it jumped around too much time wise in the final show. It was very rushed and none of it made sense. So this describes the whole series really well.
Exactly. I felt NOTHING when Jon stabbed the Crazy Dragon lady. I almost cried when Drogon tried to "wake her up".
The queen ordered him to kill the Lannisters....there was no queen or king to tell him what to do with Jon
I imagined Jon torn to pieces by angry Dothrakis.... by the way, where did they go? to Naath?
She kinda set them free when she gave her speech. At least that’s how it came across to me
Load More Replies...This was a big scene missing from the last episode: the confrontation between Jon Snow and The Unsullied & the Dothraki, after he murdered Danny.
He didn't make any of those things happen...they happened how they were supposed to. All he can do is watch
And Bran was never able to see the furture anyway. Only the past and present. He had no idea how things would play out.
Load More Replies...I think the point is for everyone else thinks that Jon is getting punished, but Bran is actually rewarding Jon with the life that he wanted (in the North without titles). Or have I misunderstood this?!
Perhaps she was the only one who knew how doomed Jaime was because of his twin sister...
Load More Replies...I thought she was going to write "father of..." And the name of their child or something
At this point did anyone else think for a second she was going to write something along the lines of: father to Brienne Jr?
Actually, she was thankfully to him for making her a woman. No other man, except for Tormund, would dare to climb on her.
it still might, many Paraplegics still have working genitals.
What doesn't make sense? Her mom and dad were siblings. I think she did great to make it that far before the crazy came out.
I totally agree, Tyrion was right there only so much genocide you can do with praise before murder is equal to good idea
Load More Replies...I never saw her like this character spiraling down into madness, and in my eyes she fought hard for that Iron Throne. Westeros was not a kind place with kind rulers, but a cruel world and perhaps she saw King´s Landing as the perfect example, who knows? It was sad to see her gone (and Drogon grieving for her in such way didn´t make things easier either...)
it had always been heading that way. they just rushed it WAY too quickly & the writing was lazy.
Her name backwards, Syrenead, is a character in Final Fantasy and WoW
d&d kinda forgot about Dany's whole other kingdom with a strong army...
The Second Sons weren't that large to begin with. They were about 2,000 men.
Load More Replies...So...what did THIS guy do the entire time? Oh wait; Drogon will return with a dead Queen and the SHEEEEEET will REALLY hit the fan!! LOL!!
Drogon swung by Mereen, showed everyone her dead body and everyone said "F it." Slavery returned to Slaver's Bay and Daario was forced into the fighting pits.
Haha, at least all these lovely British actors will get promotions out of it 😁
Hahah actually Arya didn’t even make a vote ... they stopped at her and decided the decision was made
no one said the queen will be female. Also, Bran said he USED to be a man, right. Soooo
Which brings up the point, did Bran use a catheter? Adult diapers?
Load More Replies...Bronn was busy making John Wick chapter 3 and came back to pick up his check 😂🤣
But everyone is forgetting all that happened when Bran went North of the wall
The part where he was a fairly useless MacGuffin who got everyone else killed?
Load More Replies...Sansa didn’t use her “wits” she just got rescued every time & after Littlefinger tricking her 20x she finally didn’t fall for it...still...better off
Except he totally abandoned the Night's Watch to go off with the Free Folk
And I totally support his choice. The writters put him in the situation he had to kill the woman he loved to prevent a massacre. He did the only thing that could be done. The reward for his sacrifice? being sent to the Wall, never allowed to love again, to have kids. I would have tottaly go "Mance Rayder" too.
Load More Replies...So the dragon melted that big goddamn ice wall how the hell did it get built again so fast and how
Bran outsmarted the Unsullied so that Jon would be free to run off with his one true love Tormund..
There isn't. It was a lie to get Jon out alive. He went to live with the free folk and they all knew that because there was no nights watch anymore.
Well... at the beginning of the show they didn't believe in Whitewalkers... and the wall kept the freefolk out... so it has as much relevance now as it did then.
I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come."
Lol I don't think I'd want to sit on that Throne it looks very uncomfortable
She did try to honor him. I liked the last line about dying protecting his queen, it only shows her good heart.
I was expecting a line saying he'd never meet his child...
Load More Replies...For one second did anyone think she was going to write something along the lines of: father to Brienne Jr?
Bran has the best story to tell because he literally knows everything that ever did and ever will happen.
Yes mom, we know... He knows everybody's stories. He's a tape recorder. Got it...
Load More Replies...Jon would have faced criticism anyway for supporting Danaerys´ cause, him being a Targaryen too. Poor Aegon was not winning this one.
I'm beguinning to wonder if Unsullied reproduce by a kind of male parthenogenesis or through spontaneous generation. Their number doesn't seem to decrease no matter how many of them disappear during the battles.
Not just the cheese makers but makers of all dairy products!
Load More Replies...My eyes were focused on that huge Targaryen banner (a sail from the ships, I think) and wondering if Drogon put it up there...
That was the moment when they understood to give her a private moment with her boyfriend.
I wonder if D&D realize that they wrote Bran as the biggest villain on the show. It's been established that he can see in the past present AND future, so he would have know what chaos the information about Jon's parentage would bring, what would happen to Dany's sanity, yet he didn't warn anyone. When Tyrion asked him if he wanted to be king he said "Why do you think I came here?", as if he's confirming he knew he would be king all this time and that's why he kept his mouth shut. Man, the writing is terrible.
Yep! I was thinking about that the whole time. What a little weasle!
Load More Replies...For everyone whining about "Bran has the best story"--Tyrion was NOT saying that Bran's own personal experience was any greater than anyone else's. He meant that Bran has EVERY FREAKING STORY THAT EVER HAPPENED IN WESTEROS, EVER, which includes everything that happened since S1E1. Stop being so freakin literal, people.
That's exactly what I thought he meant but then seen everyone else's comments and thought 'I must be wrong'!
Load More Replies...I am glad to hear the comments regarding not being able to hear some of the speech. So I am not hard of hearing...
I really tought (before the season) that the end would be Sansa as queen of the north and Jon&Dany as rulers of the south. I really hope (altough i dont think that it will happen) that in the books Dany stays as Queen of the east (with her advisors). I have the feeling that its the only way that she will grow to be a good ruler instead of a conqueror. I would like to see a Stark (John/Sansa) as ruler of the north and another person (Sansa/Tyrion?) in the south of westeros. I am not reallt sure what to think about Aegon 😅 And i really hope that Rickon comes back with a lot of wildlings to help the dead watch (or at least that he doesnt die)
Something about Bran's passivity and humbleness tells me that he'll grow up to be much wiser and more powerful than Gandalf and Dumbledore. In a world of magic, it is important for the leader and protector of your realm to be a magical being. He's the biggest influence in saving the world from both the Night King and the Mad Queen, and people almost didn't listen to him. Power is best in the hands of someone who cares about real threats more than their ego - and this is a person who lacks all ego and individuality, but can see threats from thousands of miles away.
I like this part. Jon: "You have to swear never to tell anyone ever!" Sansa: "Why?" Jon: "Cuz you're family." Sansa: "OK then... what's the secret?" Jon: "You're not family."
Looking for the Russians or the Chinese, to make a better GoT's remake, with a proper ending. 😉
