Meet Luhu, The Saddest Cat In The World Whose Photos Will Break Your Heart
571Kviews
Cats have a pretty good deal in life. They sleep all day, they get petted whenever they demand it, they eat for free, and they don't have to pay any rent. As you can see from the pictures below however, not all cats are happy with their easy lives. In fact, some cats are downright miserable, like Luhu the tabby for example, who might just be the world's saddest feline. She lives in Beijing with her human mom, Maggie Liu, and her various other siblings, but although the cats all share the same parents, Luhu is the only one that looks as sad as she does. She does however bring plenty of joy to her 135k Instagram followers, who can't get enough of her mournful expression. Check out some of our favorite pictures below, and don't forget to vote for your favorite!

Draw me like one of your depressed French girls, because she knows you're going to freeze to death in a few hours.
Luhu could be the next grumpy cat! But be sad cat instead
tbh there is no grumpy or sad cat, its just how we see it in expression. The cats language for happy or sad is very different, but really grumpy cat and Luhu faces arent normal for a cat. And that is the real sadness..
True. Both Grumpy and Sad kitty are very precious. <3 <3
I agree. It's still adorable how they look. Just because the cat has unusual facial features doesn't mean it's an issue. The cat is healthy and not suffering as a result .nothing with celebrating this cats adorable quirk.
i meant no grumpy or sad cat by facial expression*
EDITS: my bad, of course they have expressions of their own but* not in how we percieve as the human way i.e. crying eyes and pouting lips etc.
Isnt this a disease?
It looks like some kind of birth defect, doesn't it? This is what happens when any animal is subjected to constant inbreeding. The classic example is red setters. They used to be brilliant, athletic dogs and now they're so stupid they get lost at the end of their own leashes. ... Why? The Kennel Club decided that they needed to have deformed faces and long heads to win competitions. They are responsible for more deaths and cruelty than any other single organization.
I didnt know that.. Very sad!! I hope at least this Luhu, and many other cats, are happy and comfortable with themselves and those around them. Cats and all animals are perfect just the way they are. Still, I wonder why it wasnt enough :( Luhu's face said it all..
Except it's not a dog and cats are rarely interbred in the same way.
Not a disease but human stupidity to breed defects. Yes, it breaks my heart every time I see bad breed like munchkins .
Not a disease simply a quirk in its face. Cats aren't usually inbred like dogs so it's unlikely to be like aunt messys example below.
I want to hold this kitty & give it all the snacks!
