I can understand if people are altering prints but if they are painting over the actual painting that's kinda messed up. My dad's aunt used to be a painter who did boat scenes and landscapes, she was really good and did it for a living. I'd be so sad if someone took her stuff and defaced it. Even altering the vintage ads was weird imo.

The reason why I and many painters as you can see, paint on other's paintings, is because they are now in thrift stores. People sell their old paintings because they don't want them anymore. Instead of mourning work that has already been made and paid for for the first Artists, how about applaud the Artist that is giving new life to a piece and by doing that is also helping with recycling.

A long time ago, BP did a list showing altered children's colouring books done by adults, and this reminded me of the clever creativity of it. Great list!
