Ellen Woodbury is back on Bored Panda with her hilarious PizzaCake Comics. Many of you will surely remember this series, known for its witty dialogues, unexpected twists, and relatable situations, all served with great humor.
As the artist previously shared with us, "I love making people laugh and sharing funny/weird situations with people. The drawing part is really fun, but it's incredibly satisfying to entertain others." With that in mind, let’s dive into her latest selection of comics.

We spoke to Ellen again and asked even more questions to gain insight into her creative process as a cartoonist. One of our first curiosities was about the strangest place or situation that had ever inspired an idea for one of her comics. She graciously shared this with us: “Oh I get ideas in all kinds of spots, like in the doctor's office, while grocery shopping, picking my kids up from school, or even on the toilet. I think some people just can't turn off observing things and doing their own internal commentary, for me it's been quite useful!”

Almost makes me want to buy one just So I can constantly talk about farts to it. Just to torment any possible listeners.....or I could use the same methods I use on phone scammers. Use my church app on my phone to play scripture for them. I rarely ever get scam calls anymore.

Our cell phones have been doing that under the radar for years. Why would anyone want a 1984 like device openly listening to private conversations for any purpose they like, because buying the product and agreeing to terms of use let them do whatever they want... Not agreeing to terms simply means the thing is bricked. 😂
When asked about her least favorite comic trope or cliché that she avoids in her work, the cartoonist responded: “Hmm, that's a tricky question. I wouldn't say I try to avoid any tropes, but I do try not to do themes I've seen other artists touch on often. I like to keep my content free of swears (for the most part) and I don't really stick to one topic or theme, so it's quite easy for me to avoid doing the same old, same old.”

My younger cat has come to this conclusion now. As in the free lap part, the hands he's known about since he was a kitten. But he'll also insist on sitting, with a sour expression, one metre away from me when I'm brushing my teeth since he hates the smell of toothpaste, no cuddling then.

They watch you because going to the bathroom leaves your smell that makes you vulnerable, also the act of pooping keeps you distracted which also makes you vulnerable. So their instinct tells them to help look out for each other so that no one gets attacked while pooping.

Only one I liked was Jungle book, others have all been, meh.
Next, Woodbury discussed the impact of AI-generated art and storytelling, exploring how it could potentially influence the future of comic creation: “I'm not sure AI will have a huge impact on comics and story-telling because most people want content that comes from humans. It's a form of honest expression and a way to feel connected with others. A consistent art style and well-written comic can carry a lot of emotion and make people bond over certain topics. I think there's this hollow feeling when we get content being churned out by AI because it loses that intentional feel and cohesive design. And even if it becomes indistinguishable from human-made art, it will always have this "uncanny valley" element which most finds a bit off-putting.”

Back in the 80s the Dems were worried about a coming Ice age, so they said fill the atmosphere with aerosol to warm it up...how well is that working out. Then when I was a kid the Dems said to phase out paper bags (which are biodegradable) with new plastic bags to save the environment. Now they are crying about all the plastic bags in the ocean strangling sea life...how well is that working out. It's not that we don't agree change is happening, it's just that we no longer trust the Dems ideas of fixing it since several of thier big climate saving ideas didn't work out so well. We was real actual proof that its actually going to work, (not just make things worse...again), before we go whole hog in on thier ideas. (Like the above mentioned examples).
Lastly, we wanted to learn which part of the comic creation process Ellen considers the most "underrated." She shared with us: “Okay so this is weird but I absolutely love the writing process and getting a really good idea fleshed out. I find it exciting and interesting, whereas I see lots of other artists can get frustrated with scripts and having issues with writer's block. To me, you can't force it. You have to let the ideas come naturally because then it's a more immersive experience for your readers. I find using my voice and sharing my thoughts is a way to connect with others, but I'm also an opinionated loud-mouth so maybe that's just me ha ha!”

Just because someone is a good singer or actor, does not make them a good person. While I enjoyed some of her early music, I never found her as a person someone to fangirl over. In fact I think Fangirling like a lost puppy over anyone is kinda a dumb idea. (I refer you to all the 90s and 2000s child stars that everyone rabidly fangirled over who almost nobody thinks of or even remembers anymore) (Britney Spears, Amanda Bines, Lindsey Lohan. ) plus a whole host of music stars. Ol p diddy back in the day was quite the big deal. We all see now what he was really like. While it's okay to enjoy a celebrities talents keep in mind that the facade you see on stage is not who they truly are in real life. So you might not want to be so quick to become mindlessly devoted to someone you don't truly know. A lesson each generation still must learn anew I'm afraid.

Hey don't judge. I worked as a nude/erotic model for art clubs, photography clubs and modelling agencies while I was at university. It meant I could afford my own flat instead of staying in halls of residence or needing flatmates and I left uni with far less debt than I would have done otherwise.

We must not dramatize. I think it's good that the girl is independent and pays for her studies on her own. She just doesn't have to be a dancer. There are many other jobs. My parents refused to pay for my university education - I was the first to go, they thought it was stupid. I am very proud to have paid for my own studies by working. I appreciated it much more than daddy's sons and daughters who only thought about having fun instead of studying seriously.

It's not that funny in Canada. Of course, we have free health services. But it takes a century to have these services and many do not have a family doctor. And if we think of Québec City, we think of “tranquility”. But now there is a significant rise in crime and homelessness. It's very sad. And what about the cost of living! The pandemic has a broad back. There are even businesses and restaurants that close because... they can't find employees 😐

As simply as I can, short fingernails are much less likely to cause cuts and abrasions to her girlfriend's vagina and they are much less likely to harbour dirt and bacteria meaning less chance of infection.

I wouldn't say religion so much as narcissism. No matter how charitable the organization there is always a few who will take advantage of it. Or as my religion states the Church of God is perfect, its people are not. So the ideas can be amazingly good, peoples ability to implement said teaching however....

You know it was once illegal for men to enter women's bathrooms and locker rooms, and we never had any gender inspections necessary. So the fears on this one are unfounded. We will just handle it the way we used to. If a guy starts flashing himself and his manly bits in our areas we notify security and he is removed, plain and simple. Not to be rude, but I can't help but wonder why they are horrified by the made up gender inspections, but are perfectly okay with forcing Women to get naked and shower with biological males against thier will. (Before you ask, no, claiming to want to be a woman is not nor will ever be an excuse for that kind of behavior. I'm speaking as a survivor of abuse myself. There is absolutely no excuse whatsoever for that kind of behavior). The only way to satisfy both parties would be to make every changing stall, Shower, and bathroom single use only. With deadbolt locks. Then everyone will be granted absolute privacy and protection.
