Hey Pandas, do you believe in reincarnation? Why or why not? If you do, do you consider yourself religious?

I'm not at all religious. I guess you could say I'm a non-practicing spiritual Jew.
I do believe that our basic essence is energy, which can't be destroyed.
I lived in Japan for 17 years. From the first day I arrived there, I was comfortable. The language somehow came to me very easily, and things that other foreigners found weird or objectionable seemed normal to me. It was almost like a 17 year deja vu. Was I Japanese in a previous life? I don't think it's that simple, but it does feel like there is a part of my energy, or soul if you will, that came from another other energy.
So yes, I do believe that our energy recycles, but maybe not as a cohesive unit. The current "me" isn't a unit that's been reborn over and over, but rather a mix of energy from other souls.
Does this even make sense?

I hadn't really thought much of it, myself, but I have recently had a few experiences that I feel I were pointing me in that direction. I consider myself Christian, so it's not lining up with my beliefs, but I'm becoming more and more convinced every day.

I am not religious so I do not believe in sould or reincarnation. But from all the "afterlife" ideas that I have read this seems the nicest. To go back to the planet and experience a new life seems really interesting, its a pity that people dont remember their previous lives in this scenario. It would be nice if at some point in adulthood everybody could connect to their past lives.

I really wish I could go to a hypnotist to find out more about mine. Thank you for answering!

I believe in reincarnation. My family is not religious & neither am I, but I do believe in heaven & God, the angels & spirit guides.
I first learned about it when I was a kid & watched the psychic Sylvia Browne guest star on the Montel Williams show. Everything she said just "clicked" & rang true with me.
Ever since then I've read & collected her books & was even lucky enough to meet her in person once.
She explains that we choose our lives to both experience them for God (since we each carry the spark of Him/Her within us) & to "advance" our soul's growth through life's challenges (which we also chose for ourselves, before we were born).
Once a lifetime is complete & we return to our real Home in heaven, we evaluate our experience & then decide if, when & why we'd like to return for another incarnation.
All that I've learned from her is very comforting to me. Especially when I see such terrible things on the news or hear of someone who's passed away. We all go Home when it's the right time for us & when we planned to leave. Most of us come back & have lived dozens of lifetimes & usually with the same group of people who are currently in our family or friends group.

I was seriously just going to ask you what you answered in the last sentence. I think that, also. Thank you for your response. I really feel like this isn't my first or last time around. One night I looked at my (48f) best friend (44m) and I didn't really see him as he looks to me, but as someone my soul has known for what seems eternity, and will continue to have lives together. When I said something to him about it, he shrugged and said that's how it usually works. We may have a different type of relationship, such as father/son, cousins, best friend, etc., But usually with the same souls for lack of another word.
