Russian Artist Creates Stunningly Realistic Doll Faces That’ll Make Your Skin Crawl
Sometimes, a craftsman is too good, like when he makes dolls so realistic it’s creepy. Michael Zajkov is one such man. The faces of his art dolls are so realistic, it’s disturbing to see him hold their heads in his hands. When you watch his work in motion, there’s only so much you can do not to mutter “please don’t blink, please don’t blink, please don’t blink…”
Zajkov graduated from Kuban State University of Russia in 2009. From 2010 to 2013 he worked at a puppet theater while also attending a graduate school. He was propelled to fame after the 2013 “Art Dolls” expo in Moscow. Zajkov’s creations have multiple joints. He uses polymer clay for the dolls, hand painted glass eyes from Germany, and French mohair for hair.

I know. Why are they so sad? :/ The dolls are exquisite works of art. Exquisite! But makes me think; that the artist is sad too. Bc art reflects it's creator .

these dolls are incredible and he is a master artist. Like a few other Russian bd makers his dolls will/would be something I lust after but will probably never be able to obtain. I am curious about this site though: I was compiling pictures and artists that make bjds for a friend today and this is the third article about a Russian artist [in one case sisters] where creepy is either used in the title or to describe the dolls. Each one of these dolls and their friends are jewels meant to create awe you must get kinda scared or creeped out easily

"Makes your skin crawl" is a fear-based reaction: Why would such beautifully accurate creations make an observer fearful? Strange choice of word; amazing level of skill and talent in the artist.
