Jirka Vinse Jonatan Väätäinen is a graphic designer and illustrator from Finland who has a unique way of looking at Disney villains. Last year we brought you his realistic renditions of Disney movie princesses, and now he's back with a decidedly darker project just in time for Halloween.
As you can see from these scarily lifelike pictures of cartoon characters, the Finnish creative has brought to life a number of Disney's most fearsome villains as part of his ongoing 'cartoon characters in real life' series. Using a combination of digital compositing, photo manipulation and digital painting, Väätäinen adds a creepily realistic dimension to such antagonists as Cruella De Vil from 101 Dalmations, Captain Hook from Peter Pan, Judge Claude Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame and a whole host of other famous characters that we all love to hate. Take a look at some of his cool drawings, and don't forget to vote for the best!

These are fantastic! You really captured the personality of each character, and I love the concept of making real life portraits. Excellent work!

Jirka always nails it when it comes to creating realistic Disney illustrations.
Fantastic!! It's scary how real they look. And still so close to the cartoons we know so well!
