I painted this watercolour portrait during the weekend as a tribute to Prince. I wanted to try a new watercolour technique that I had never tried before, where you add salt to the wet paint to create interesting textures.

I’ve added pictures to show the entire process of making this painting. The finished painting is about 30×40 cm.
