A recent college graduate decided to go on a trip around Europe last month, and she did something unique that took her vacation photo game from tacky tourist to viral legend in one Reddit post.
The world traveler, who goes by the username 'devgal,' was born with a congenital bone disease, and had to have her right leg amputated above the knee when she was only 4 years old. Her free spirit, however, remained untouched, as did her sense of humor. So, when she set off from her native Philadelphia to trot the globe, she came up with the genius idea - she spray-painted her prosthetic leg with chalkboard paint, and wrote the name of each city she visited on it to create unique, hilarious, and surprisingly inspiring photos.
"Got myself a chalkboard leg and went on a trip," she captioned her adventure.
As fate would have it, a fellow backpacker whom she crossed paths with at a hostel in Vienna noticed her album on Reddit, and reached out. "Yes! Hi! I hope the rest of your trip was amazing," devgal excitedly replied. Despite her disability, she lives life to the fullest, and with the best possible attitude. "Everyone has sh*t they have to deal with in life, mine just happens to be my leg. It's really not all that bad," she wrote in one comment. Check out her amazing journey below, and watch out for that contagious smile!
