Bored Panda Office Tried Out Prisma App That Turns Photos Into Paintings, Here Are The Results
Apple iOS top charts have been stormed by a new app called Prisma. Supposedly it can transform your photos into works of art in just a couple of seconds. But here at Bored Panda we don't just take words for granted, we've decided to test it out ourselves using our own photos taken with our smartphones.
And boy was it fun! The app provides you with a bunch of styles derived from famous paintings like Edvard Munch's "The Scream" or Katsushika Hokusai's "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" (that's among various others like mosaic or gothic). Just be prepared to sink quite a bit of time into the app, because you might find yourself turning your photo album into a fully fledged art gallery!
Android fans will have to wait just a bit longer, but from what we've heard, the app is coming later this month.

Load More Replies...before you carelesly jump on the App, you should know that, by using it, you forfeit the right to own the picture. I believe this is only in regards to the "modified" picture, but i'm not entirely sure.
my bad, you don't forfeit the rights to the picture but you allow the company to use it: "Prisma does not claim ownership of any Content that you post on or through the Service. Instead, you hereby grant to Prisma a non-exclusive, fully paid and royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide license TO USE the Content that you stylize on or through the Service, subject to the Service’s Privacy Policy."
Load More Replies...This app was brilliant the first time I downloaded and used it but since then has been glitchy as all hell, refusing to fully load pics :(
I liked all of these images and thought each one was very exact and detailed to the original photograph too.
You can try this yourself without a smartphone. At a website called deepart.
It is just app... It doesn´t recognise, what is importent on the pic. So it can never replace the real art.
Before you download the app, make sure it is the actual free app and not the one that costs $2.99!
I tried downloading the app and it downloaded something called "Radio". Doesn't do anything but show a bunch of radio stations.
It's free but there's a copycat app that costs $2.99. Don't download that one!
