“You Are So Beaut-OHGOD!”: 40 Hilarious Before-And-After Pictures, As Shared By These Women With A Sense Of Humor (New Pics)
When it comes to social media, a little healthy skepticism is always a good thing. Just think about the face filters, airbrushing techniques, flattering poses, and facial expressions that exaggerate our daily lives over there. It’s full of carefully choreographed pictures that strive to convince us everyone looks flawless all the time and makes us miserable when we feel anything but. But in reality, nothing could be further from the truth!
While a brief skim through Instagram shows you some people living in a world of vanity where the levels of fakery are off the charts, others invite us on a wild ride straight to the land of hilarity. Like the 'Pretty Girls Ugly Faces' community over on Reddit. Nearly 95k members have set out to share before and after photos of themselves that poke fun at the well-curated and polished side of social media.
Even though we have previously featured the subreddit here, here, and here, these women have uploaded so many new gems that we just had to do a follow-up! I think this one is the best. "Pretty" looks minimally filtered and "ugly" is just a funky angle. True representation of good and bad pics 😝 Side note she reminds me of an actress that was a secondary character in a LOT of shows funny and beautiful.

Ah, a fortunate lady! I never managed to get to the "before" type pics even once - not even in my twenties XD I'm a lifelong "after" pic, much to my mother's chagrin, who SO wanted a perfect little frilly girly-girl when she adopted me ::pats the men's cargo shorts and wallet chain she's wearing and the vivarium of pet pillbugs on her desk:: Mother dear never got that girl. XD Dad got a pretty good "as close to a son as possible", though!

I actually think it's great. Especially women learn from early age that they are not allowed to be ugly - ever. And that their whole worth is based on being pretty/attractive. I think that mentality needs to go, and this is refreshing.

I once, in a contest with my children, pulling ugliest mug,as we call it, did one so bad, my youngest looked at me in awe and said, " mommy, never make that face again! I don't want to remember you like that!" Score! We laughed until we hurt. Ugly Mugs is a great game.

I used to adore the Calvin and Hobbes comics growing up (I still love them for their witty humour). There is a wonderful Calvin and Hobbes comic that reminds me exactly of these photos. I used to make the same bizarre faces as a kid and my nanny would always say that my face would stick like that and it wasn't becoming of a girl which made me want to do it more. Serious question: Is double chin more common between girls than men? Because I'm quite fat but can't get that double chin. My GF, on the other hand, she is very slim and has double chin 😂

It's a structural thing (bone structure; men tend to have "square-er" jawbones and women's are more pointy-triangular-ish) so we have less "real estate" to hide our chin/neck fat XD Plus men and women get their fat deposits in different places, and women tend to get fat "faces", so to speak - at least more commonly than men do. (Men have their deposits in their belly/abdomen, primarily.) I'm still within the "acceptable weight" range for my height (if we're going by those despicable BMI charts, that is) and I have QUITE the double chin :DDDDDDDDD But then again, I'm a female with high levels of testosterone (for a female) so all the REST of my fat is in my gut/belly! I literally look like I have a tiny beer gut!

Right?! I literally snork-snorted laughter so loudly that I woke up both of my cats (and my clingy older girl came over to check on me to make sure I was okay). I don't even know how these amazing and talented girls manage to get the "before" pics.... my mom tried to force me into practicing "how to lady" for 40 years and it never took. I look like the "after" pics 24/7. XD

Oh, dear! I had to laugh at all of them. I was "cute" until I was around 10 y.o., and then went straight to homely. Somehow, no idea how because I didn't wear makeup (lifelong hyper allergy to thousands of chemicals), I actually managed to look decent for my wedding photos 50 years ago. Since then, (speaking silly for the fun of it), "they jest ain't no way, no how, that this here woomin is ever goin' to look like ennythin' enny other human thinks is normal"! I'm now 70, very overweight due to mobility issues caused by serious injuries....and I'm homelier than ever!!! Thankfully, those people who love me, do so because they're the sweetest people on Earth!
