There was a tradition in one western kingdom: if you visit a royal person in a castle you have to come with any exotic animal so that he or she at least won’t get bored in case your speech is not as interesting and/or important as you think. When everybody was tired of different kind of birds, rhinos, camels, buffalos and even fake “unknown” animals, one stranger had brought a wonderful creature’s cub looking like a half of an eagle and a half of a lion. He was nonamed ranger from far far away, all his life searching for some new wonders in the wild woods.He said it is called “griffin”. All the great ladies fell in love with the beast, everybody wanted to have one. The problem was appeared when griffin cubs grew up: they became too large, too strong and too restive for gentle noble women. Finally royal wizards with help of the ranger had found a solution: they had bred a kind of griffins looking like domestic cats crossed with parrots, that also gave big amount of bright coloring. Since there each self-respecting lady has a powder-puff griffin as a familiar.
