Tired Of Seeing Prejudice Against Plus-Sized Women This Artist Turned Them Into Art
We’ve had all the possible versions of the 'ideal' body throughout history, and it’s about time that we agree – beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and the most attractive is the art of being comfortable and confident in your own skin. Nevertheless, mainstream media keeps placing images of the perfect body in our brains and the pressure to conform is real.
Brazilian artist Eduardo Santos, known as Edull on social media, enjoys juicy curves and wants the whole world to know it. Using his incredible talent he turns his everyday plus-size muses into cute animated characters. By doing what he loves he doesn‘t only empower tons of chubby girls out there to appreciate their bodies, but helps spread the body positivity message and fight prejudice shaped by today’s society.
“I've always liked chubby girls and also suffered from the prejudice they felt. I ended up discovering art as a way to show the world that a fat woman is a normal woman, just as beautiful as all the others,” the artist told Bored Panda.
Putting chubby women in the spotlight through his drawings and illustrations, Eduardo has created his imaginary plus size world where everyone is welcomed. He has been accepting commissions from women around the world and has grown a big collection of artworks that praise the curvy silhouette and celebrates the beauty of women

If these were meant to be realistic, the artist would have aimed at a different drawing style. These are just meant to be cute, therefore, sometimes they will exaggerate with the shapes.
Load More Replies...Lighter coloured legs in the drawing make me feel uncomfortable. I get that the girl in the original picture is wearing tights, but there is just something wrong with the colour selection for the drawing which makes it feel unnatural.
BEAUTIFUL NO MATTER THE SIZE BECAUSE WE ALL ARE PART OF THE HUMAN RACE AND WE ARE CREATED BY A HIGHER POWER> LOVE YOURSELF AND YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING!!!!!!
It looks great! bit of a skin color difference though...between legs and rest of the body...
Yes, the artist is talented, but why make the cartoons of grown women look like little girls. The huge head make them look like caricatures, and the huge eyes and tiny button nose make them look like little girls.
The anatomy on this one could seriously use more work. The hips don't match the lower legs. When you draw someone, you have to draw the hidden portions of the body too or you end up with something like this.
This one's art version look much closer to the real woman, since the face and eyes aren't 4 to 6 times larger and nose isn't 4 times smaller.
ik it goes rlly well with the outfit\swimsuit
Load More Replies...This has nothing to do with the actual drawing, but I just noticed the artists signature. What a wonderfully cool and unique way to sign your name!
It's the kind of smile I'd say all sorts of nominally-funny jokes just to see. Okay, so maybe I have a peculiar style of anti-humor. Still, though.
Load More Replies...Elsker, show me a photo of a couple where the guy wants to be there, and I'll show you award winners for the annoying couple award. The award is 'cute couples', so *wanting* to be there is optional.
Load More Replies...It is odd, we accept women over weight in cartoons but not in real life.
There's no way this woman is a plus-size. There isn't an ounce of fat on her face.
I think she looks healthier than some thin people...
Load More Replies...Believe me, it is the rare person of size who does not know they are at an unhealthy weight. If there was a simple solution they would do it. There is nothing wrong with learning to love your body and your beauty. This is not glorifying obesity. It is showing that any body can be beautiful. Stop shaming people for their size. If it is not your journey, you know nothing about it!
Fat doesn't always mean unhealthy. Skinny people can be more unhealthy by far.
Load More Replies...okay this isn't plus size anymore. stop glorifying obesity people, chubby and curvy is good but morbidly obese isn't. you wouldn't promote people with anorexia right ? why the opposite then. double standard smh
It's not glorifying or idolizing obesity in my opinion. It is some adults that glorify and idolize it because they think it is beautifull, and some adult people that choose to be obese because they think it's beautifull. Let them. It's not hurting you. If you want to do something about obesity, go help people that want to loose weight. Yelling at adults that are comfortable with their obesity and should not appear on pictures, is utterly useless and rude.
@ Curious Cat. F**k you, I was diagnosed with leukemia and anorexia a year ago. I was diagnosed with anorexia because of S**THEADS LIKE YOU!!!!!!!
I hope for her, she has good health care. She will need it. Im sorry, thats far from curvy. Thats lipoedema and not being able to clean yourself anymore.
There is being happy with your body, and being dangerously over weight like this.

Load More Replies...You are all incorrect. It’s spelled pretty in the GODDESS GOWN!
@Afmedic85 wtf...just cause she has short hair? You're an idiot.
Load More Replies...What you do is AMAZING and Lovely, Being a curvy girl myself I appreciate your interest.🥰🥰
Maybe she's like me. I'm faaaaaaaar from obese, but I need to take off lots of kg to reach my ideal weight. However, no matter how much weight I gain, my portrait is always slim.
Load More Replies...I swear that this looks like fashion designer Ashely Nell Tipton... if not... still totally adorable. Love the hair! <3
I love how women have been freeing themselves from long hair. She looks just perfect. ❤️
Various short hairstyles on women and girls were very trendy in the early-mid 2000s. Apparently, in the 1980s too at some point. Now, most have long hair indeed. Until the next wave of change comes with the next fashion trend. It just comes and goes.
Load More Replies...@First Name: You keep on posting all these negative comments. I think we would all appreciate it if you kept your rude thoughts in your head. These are actual people and just because they don’t fit your vision of perfection doesn’t mean you have the right to criticize or shame them.
Right? That dress is freaking gorgeous! (And her in it.)
Load More Replies...Well, it's a photo shoot. She probably has shorts or leggings to wear after they take the photos.
Load More Replies...Her pics outfit is even more beautiful than the one in tbe drawing. 💙
Well Zachery they say you get what you ask for. Here's another one.
Load More Replies...I wish the artist would have stayed closer to the photo. Lovely photo pose and subject.
All of these ladies are beautiful. What hits me is the importance of being well groomed and having a sense of style!
Some people dream about their wedding outfit for years and eventhough you only wear it once, it's the most important garment you will ever own. It's OK that this wouldn't have been your choice, it's nothing like my wedding dress either. What's not OK is your comment about "her type". Read the room, dude.
Such a lovely vision to brighten my day! I love brides... 🥰🥰🥰
First of all, this woman is stunning. From the hair to the dress, the fact that anyone would care about what her knee is doing for her beauty is incredible. I mean what has this come to, I don't go walking around telling people that I care for, "hey, I'd be down to date you, but that knee just looks awful, takes away from all your beauty". This picture deserves a way better comment than that and lastly you are right a "functional joint" seldom is seen as beautiful because people like me are admiring true beauty not staring at someone's knee.
If you're going to be so critical and not wanting to accept the reason of this article then just go and click on another one. no one wants your critical aura floating around a beautiful source of optimism.
Load More Replies...Oh gosh you again. Go suck a cactus and find out why you feel the need to hate on people who are spreading positivity. I hope sincerely that you find out how to love yourself and others. good luck
Load More Replies...Messy bun hair looks good on most people. What are you talking about?
Load More Replies...Twat. Please scrub your mouth for the s****y insults you spew.
Load More Replies...Keep your judgements to yourself. She is elegant. This is not about 'health'. This is about beauty, appreciation for doing what you can with what you have.
YOU posted YOUR "judgement" and we will post ours. Nothing good about being 200 pounds overweight.
Load More Replies...Ok. Y'all need to calm yourselves. We should not be judging anything about this woman, she can live her own life. That being said, I am not supporting or endorsing obesity or an unhealthy lifestyle. But "disgusting" and "fat" and "nasty" are unnecessarily rude comments that you should keep to yourself.
these women are all so beautiful! It hurts my heart to see the judgements :( Either way I hope that these ladies continue to inspire others to be comfortable. In 30 years they'll be referenced in history books as strong parts in an important movement!
Important movement by honoring obesity? The health decline of the human race?
Load More Replies...All of these women are already art. They are already beautiful and they are already unique. Be proud of who you are and be the one person you want to be. Were all unique and we should be proud of that and embrace it. Its who we are.
Excellent artist. He captured what I imagine their personalities are.
I'm fat. I'm also trying to lose weight, so snarky comments about my size are very unappreciated. I know I'm fat and I'm trying to change it, why bring it up? I'm not one of those "fat is healthy" people. I just have a potential eating disorder and I don't like it one bit. It's just mean-spirited to ostracize someone for something they MIGHT not even be able to control!. All in all, women (and men too) should strive to be healthy, but not beat themselves up if they don't conform to the stick-thin ideal of how one should be.
Stop glorifying obesity. Weighing around 150kg isnt healthy no matter your body type. Im chubby myself. You shouldnt be bullied or fatshamed but helped. Eating disorders no matter if youre skinny or fatty is not healthy and will affect your overall life.
I like curvy women, but don't taking care of your body is something different. And eating like there is no tomorrow is a way of not taking care of your body.Same as noth taking a bath, not going to the dentist or not cutting your nails.I am sure that 100% of the women here would be happier if they had 15-20kg less weight.Making anorexic or too fat people "cute" is just wrong...
While it's absolutely wrong to insult people for their weight, I'm with the people who admit that there's a limit at which extra weight stops being 'chubby' and just becomes scarily unhealthy=x I don't mean that people like that stop being people or should spend their lives hating themselves, I just don't feel *glorifying* something as unhealthy as that is the way to go. Saying that as someone rather overweight herself btw :P Wouldn't say I'm overly concerned or working on it atm but I'm within my limits atm, I'm also strong and sportish and unhealthy. There was a time when I realized climbing stairs to some petty 3rd floor was becoming hard for me, that was scary. To anyone trying to lose weight, best of luck!<3
ok, being plus size (which many of the above ladies are) is fine, but some of the women pictured are really obese - even the artist shrunk tjem a bit in the illustrations - and it's not healthy and should not be sold as curvy or a few extra pounds when it's clearly a major health issue.. I do believe that no one should be put to shame because of their looks but please stop advertising being dangerously overweight as something positive.. the same goes for extra skinny look, so called heroin chic of the 90s that was sold to us as attractive and beautiful - it's not healthy, it is dangerous
I was skinny, now I'm fat {I got old} but pretending that an unhealthy body weight is a good thing or a positive thing is not the right message. No, we don't want our daughters to be stick figures but saying "okay to be obese" is not the answer either. Find a Healthy reality
I think ppl are triggered because we have in our mindset that if someone is obese they don’t have the right to feel beautiful, sexy, or attractive. That is on them. I grew up in the 70’s. Most ppl were thinner than they are now, as a whole, and the pressure was astounding. Fatness as a joke/disease/ostracizable status was the norm. Nothing has changed for some ppl: that it’s ok to make judgments on fatness. Ironically these ppl who put themselves out there are incredibly brave. I grew up with strong cultural insight into what you wore if you were too thick/thin/tall/short. Now these women break the rules.
Let's promote unhealthy lifestyles and see our children think that being fat is allright. What a time to be alive.
