It was really interesting to me to learn that giraffes from different regions have different spots (just learned this within the last week) and seeing their spots makes it seem wild I had never noticed before
This is an excellent picture!😃I Love girffes, and this is the main reason I wrote the heartwarming story about a helpful giraffe that brings you back to childhood. My uplifting book with beautiful pictures makes people smile! Check it out on my Facebook page. The ebook is just $9😃
You have something on your nose. Did you know? Just there.
Bored Panda got in touch with Akbar Mehrinezhad, the photographer behind the picture of the cat we’re featuring in today’s list. Based in Iran, Mehrinezhad specializes in street photography, but as you browse through his portfolio, you'll quickly notice a distinct preference for cat-themed shots.
We wanted to learn more about Akbar’s work, so our first question was about what inspired him to focus on the stray cats living on the streets. The photographer explained: “Every photographer chooses a subject according to his mood, in the past few years, due to my interest in animals, I focused on urban animals, especially cats.”

Behold! The wielder of black lighting! Bow down and worship! (He accepts tuna)
"Be afraid. Be very afraid." The idea probably will be very beneficial to kitty (and kitty-kind), not so beneficial to hoomans.

"and then she says, she says, ... are you even listening to me!"
There are some pigs over there, they have stolen eggs. Now we have this catapult and an idea....
When asked about the specific challenges he faces while capturing his signature black-and-white cat portraits, the photographer shared: “There’s no problem in being affectionate. Either they enjoy posing for pictures, or they don’t and simply walk away.”

Load More Replies...Akbar told us that his favorite location to meet and photograph his cat models is around Azadi Tower in Tehran, Iran. According to Mehrinezhad, this place “is symbolic for Iranians,” which gives it even greater importance.

More than a dozen chimps stand in silence watching from behind their wire enclosure as Dorothy, a chimp in her late 40s who died of heart failure, Cameroon, 2008.
It's important that they see the body so they can know she's dead and grieve as they need to. I do the same thing when one of my rats dies because rats are also intelligent social animals (one even died of grief after his brother passed away).
Same with my rats. I had one trio of boys, Charles, Rennie and Mackintosh, all from the same litter, and when Rennie died suddenly and unexpectedly in his youth, the remaining two were upset, but the experience made them become really close. Unfortunately, rats have very short life-spans, and when Charles (Charlie) died, I let Mackintosh (Macca) say his goodbyes. He was clearly devastated, and I had to fight with him to get his brother's body out of the cage, as he was guarding it. As a solo rat Macca didn't last for much longer. I wish people knew just how emotional, passionate, friendly, feisty, and downright funny rats can be - especially when part of a group.

I keep seeing this picture everywhere, but no one can tell me how they got the kitty to smile so big? Or if it's even real?
Lastly, we asked what makes a photograph of a stray cat powerful and emotionally resonant. The Iranian photographer responded: “Cats are a part of people’s lives, almost like their children. I take pictures of people’s children.”

dungeon master- "party encounters a psychic chicken. it hits with a psionic blast that does 32 points of damage."
Why is this photo reminding me of the 1960’s, 70’s Batman and Robin cartoon? I wasn’t even born yet 😂😂
Probably because the cartoon dealt with an imp from another dimension. A real PITA, if you ask me.

I would honestly like to know the context. Was that a fashion show or something?
It looks like a plastic statue, so maybe in a park?

They say women must wear these things to prevent temptation for men. So, if I have a big dog that doesn’t like kids, I should be able to let the dog run free all day, while the kids are required to stay indoors, right? Yeah guys, blame the women and kill them if they don’t obey.

This must be the old Hong Kong airport. Terrifying it was - only the most experienced pilots were allowed the gig.

No, I don't want to see that! I came here for otters and their pet rocks!
This is the first picture on boredpanda where I wanted a warning and a choice if I wanted to see it.

We humans are so strange. I still eat poultry and fish even though I know we humans don't have to eat other animals to live - I'm still evolving.
Poor baby! I understand some of you prefer not seeing this, but the article isn't about feel good pictures. It's about interesting pictures. This photographer told a whole story in a split second. It's a heartbreaking moment, but also great picture.
you know what, this kind of killed the mood. and the one with the kid did me in too.
I got out of photo-journalism for this reason. They still are not supposed to interfere, but I could not let this little one be left in that situation! Tragic.
