Here’s What’s Inside This Art-Nouveau Abandoned Palace That I Found Hidden In A Small Town (18 Pics)

This amazing Art-Nouveau abandoned palace, most likely built in the 19th century, is relatively hidden in a small town and filled with antique furniture. Unlike many other residential objects that I have photographed, it is very challenging to find historic information about this building.

One of the former owners of the palace was a lawyer with a chivalric title. In one of the bedrooms in the building, I found a photograph of him with a date of birth in 1874. Other than him, the palace must have been owned by a religious and very wealthy family well-known for growing cereals. In the office, there were several birth registers lying around. The son of the family supposedly has a degree in agriculture and was born in 1941.

The palace was covered in stunning thick drapes and curtains, old books were lying around everywhere, and the furniture left behind is pure craftsmanship. Next to that, a lot of statues of popes, saints, and Madonnas were found all over the place.

My name is Violeta and I am an editor here at Bored Panda. I love reading memes for a living. It’s obviously much more than that, but I appreciate the variety of topics, information, and pics I get to see every day and share with the world! Those funny memes really make my day too. Being born in the ’90s in post-Soviet Lithuania speaks more about me than I’d like to admit. I’m still learning about the world and myself, but I do love my friends, traveling, art, and my cat. My favorite fact to share about myself is that I used to hide meatballs in my friend’s pockets at lunch so I could go play outside. I wish all those meatballs could find their way back to me someday.

I never understand how this happens. Sad if no family or friends to leave it to.

It looks like they left in a hurry. I like the 2 single beds. That stuff is worth some money. Did you leave it all there or do something with it?

I photographed it as I found it. However, it might be that someone else before me made it like this.

What I would give to have seen this in person, and to have seen it in its hey day!

Amazing, but definitely not art nouveau, it's rather eclectic

There was a big mix of a variety of styles, you're correct it's definitely not completely art nouveau.
