We Tried To Capture The Personality Of Each Of These Cats From A Cat Theater (18 Pics)
Fluffy artists. That's the only way to call cats of the unique and worldwide-known Kuklachev's Cat Theater. At the end of 2021, Veronica Ershova and I spent a week in the company of Dmitry Kuklachev, photographing the most charismatic members of his troupe.
Kuklachev's Cat Theater was formed in 1990 and for now, it's the only cat theater in the world. In 1995, during the Paris tour, the theater was awarded Golden World Cup and got the title of "The most original theater in the world". In 2006, the International Association at the United Nations awarded the theater with the "Golden Phenomenon" prize, and the Association of Broadway Theaters recognized the theater's performance "Cats and the Artist" as the best play of the year.

Hello dear Mr. Khokhlov, as the poster of these photographs- can you make a statement about the allegations please? Is it true that anybody in Russia gets in trouble when voicing criticism about this Kuklachev father&son because they have political backing? Did you know about the ongoing protests since 10 years?

All of these cats are absolutely gorgeous and the photos capture their personalities (catalities?) beautifully... I was going to comment about how it is possible to train cats. I've trained my boy Arrow a bit, using positive reinforcement. But I read about how these cats are being trained using cruelty and abuse. It's disgusting and makes me so angry, I can't even think straight now! I hope BP stops promoting these people. I hope someone finds a way to get the cats out of there. These majestic and innocent creatures deserve so much better. 😾

The secret of successful photography of almost anything -- people, critters, architecture, boulders, botany, whatever -- is to treat the photo session as portraiture. Shoot a home's portrait, not only its outline. Find faces everywhere.
