Star Wars action figures have long been a part of fantasy play, and photographer Brett Ferencz has turned that fantasy play into art. He's the man behind Scotch Trooper™, @scotch_trooper on Instagram. From his About Page on scotchtrooper.com, Ferencz describes himself as "a Star Wars loving Whisky Enthusiast living dangerously close to where they film The Walking Dead south of Atlanta."
So how long does it take him to stage and shoot each highly detailed photo? He told Whisky Advocate: "An idea can pop in my head, and I can set it up, shoot it, and be done in 30 minutes. Or I can think of an idea, go set it up, six hours later I hate it, and throw everything away. There’s no rhyme or reason as to what’s going to work awesome and be quick and painless."
With the rising following of his Instagram, Ferencz recently turned from his job as web developer to freelance photographer, mainly doing shoots for liquor brands. He has a collection of 100 Star Wars action figures that figure into his photos but probably not one particular character. (On his site's contact page, he lets drop that he detests Jar Jar Binks).
