Every moment can be beautiful, depending on your perspective. A photographer from Arkansas now knows that better than anyone.

“Around 6:17 am a young couple shows up. It’s them. I’m sure of it. A little late but still not too late. They go up onto Hawksbill Crag. Hang out for a few minutes and then it happens….”

That’s how photographer Jacob Peters started his morning on May 8th. The talented photog was ready and waiting at Hawksbill Crag in Arkansas, an apparently popular engagement spot, to get the perfect shot of the happy couple’s big moment.

“He pulls out a ring, kneels down behind her. She turns around and starts crying and hugs him and it’s obvious she said yes and all went well. I stick around for 10-15 minutes after, just taking photos. Then they sit down watch the sunrise and I figured my job’s done, I’ll pack up and hike out.”

Peters walked his way out of the woods with 30 pounds of gear and texted the couple, from Wisconsin, congratulating them on their engagement and beautiful pictures… but that was when Peters realized he’d seriously goofed. Moments later, Peters gets this text ““I’m confused. We never saw you and we got there a little late, are you sure it was us? I was in a blue plaid shirt…”

Peters realized he had photographed the wrong couple.

Amazed by his major ‘goof’ Peters refunded the man and took to Facebook to try and find the mystery couple. Within four hours, Peters had a name.

The couple, David Lee and Jenny Pham, couldn’t believe that Peters had captured their special moment. They were elated at their luck.

Peters’ accidental deed warmed hearts all over the world. It turns out that David tried to find a photographer for the big day, but everyone was booked… there’s just something wonderful about the fact that the couple got them anyway.
