Phoenix in Bloom

I rise up from the ashes

Of my former shadow,

& I rush to share with you:

My friend, my love, my future.

I have something to show you, I say..

Record this, in case this is a dream, I say..

I cross the room to approach you,

Tears streaming down my face.

Is this real? Are you here?

Am I dreaming this tonight?

Ask me again and I’ll share my true desire.

There’s only ever been one place,

That draws me steadily like a magnet.

My love of history, culture and beauty,

Cannot compare with the place,

Where elephants and tigers roam,

& The most precious of them all.

Looking deep into my eyes, are you ready?

My heart, mind & soul remain undamaged,

Be gentle with me love, we have a lifetime.

This body may be as good as new,

Still I have much work to do: Nourish it,

Strengthen it & Most importantly,

Love it unconditionally.

You chose me and I chose you,

Before we reached this conclusion,

An ocean apart, now east meets west

& We begin anew.
