Hope without action is an excuse. Speak out against destruction of our planet and all life it supports. Sign petitions, call your government representatives, join the protests.

Why do people have to kill beautiful creatures all the time!! It makes me extremely upset when I see stories about poachers killing everything for body parts because they are beautiful and they can sell them! The people that buy them are just as bad as the poachers! They create the market for the body parts and they keep poachers in business!

Also, just as bad is the exotic pet trade. Quit trying to make a pet out of every animal out there.

The problem is, humans have to own anything they find beautiful. Even in the comments they highlighted, people talk about wanting to have one of their own, despite just saying how the commercial pet trade was threatening their numbers. It's not just the ones that make it into people's homes either. So many die along the way for every one that actually gets sold to the consumer. From the ones who are accidentally killed during capture to the ones who suffocate or starve in transit, to the ones who die of disease or lack of vet care in pet stores and supplier's warehouses. It's a terrible cycle. That goes for zoo acquisitions as well. We just don't know when to leave the birds alone. Take photos and video, but let wildlife remain wild.

Seeing more about these unique parrots on assorted sites. Interesting but with that interest I am afraid for their well being. Since they are so rare and found in only one place on our planet that increased interest will only fuel their already poaching trade. I hope the local government puts increased pressure on poaching and creates a protective habitat for them.♥️
