Guy Sees Truck Loaded With 1000 Dogs About To Be Butchered, Drives His SUV In Front Of The Truck To Stop It

I'm a meat eater, and i do find it hard to press any argument that applauds this while i eat my chicken and cows. It's a social/cultural moral dilemma i have with myself. I try to mitigate how much i consume nowadays, but i'm not always successful at it. Seeing things like this give me a very visceral reaction to the meat business overall and it reminds me to be a better steward of my own effect on the planet it's fellow inhabitants. The biggest impact i can have on this right now in my life is deciding how i spend my money. I donate to these organizations and try my best not to avoid these kinds of articles (cases of animal cruelty) because they're "a downer." I have to keep my ear to the ground and try to do better with my own habits while giving some to make these peoples next action even more successful until the unlikely day that they won't be needed anymore.

Good work, now do the same with chicks and pigs, or do they deserve less because of being of another species?

I don't agree with any animal slaughtered for meat. This article though is specifically about dogs in China being brutally massacred in the most inhumane way possible, therefore, I am not going to get into a debate with anyone about cows, pigs, chickens, etc... These people are so backward in their thinking. These poor animals suffer horrible fates. They suffer from the second they are "snatched up" to the second they take their last breath on this earth. No living creature should have to endure this type of torture. The key is education...educate them, educate our children...there will always be abuse because there will always be sick human beings, but this is completely unacceptable. People need to stop turning a blind eye to these problems and pretending they aren't happening. It's sad to say, but I see so many people so preoccupied with their own selfish interests they are desensitized to this type of situation. desensitized to this type of situation.

At this point in history it is hard to see the whole world going vegan/vegetarian. However, I think the biggest issue here is that no matter what the animals are that we culturally raise for food, their welfare during the growing, transportation and harvesting processes are our duty of care. The care given to animals during their lives, minimalising their stress during transportation and ensuring a quick and painfree as possible death, IS something we control and are responsible for. Wastage is important too, so much meat is wasted, meaning more animals are slaughtered then is necessary. You can do your part even if you are a meat eater, by educating yourself about how animals are processed and slaughtered (know where your food comes from) and going out of your way to support small privately owned and preferably organic butchers (they do exist). If this makes you instantly think, too much work or they'll be too expensive, your first duty is to change the way YOU think about cont....

Are they crazy! How con they think to eat a dog. It is a domestic animal!!! The world is getting crazy i am from Colombia and thing like this makes me sick. Thanks god those dogs are ok now.

the reason ppl rescue them because they were stolen. im just a normal guy who eat meats and vegetables, to be honest we r as "Human" we've killed more than billions living things, Animal, Trees, Plants even our own race. if you are a vegan, what makes you thing you could save the animals? most of things in this world which is made by human are from animals. what do you think about those truck full of Chickens, Cows, Pigs, lambs? r they worth to be save too? they r also living things and there are some people who make them as a pet just like cat and dog. in my country there are alot of people who make chickens as their pet and they really love that just like you love your dogs and cats. what do you think about that? do you feel bad eating chickens while there is someone who treat chicken like their family too? HUMAN, we always blaming to everything, you blame to someone who eat dogs and cats while u r eating chickens, cows and pigs. you r vegan while u still step on the grass.

Well it's kinda hypocrite to save dogs from slaughterhouse and not cow, chicken, pigs, ... who are you to decide what animal to save/eat? The choice is on the consumer side, don't buy it if you don't approve it.

We use cattle,pig,chickens, sheep because they are kind've useless.Dogs serve the govt and people.Cats give feedback and reduce stress.These animals should be exempt from slaughter.
