My photography series explores the colorful world of the folks who have kept the Rocky Horror Picture Show on screens nationwide for an unbelievable 40 years. These “shadow cast” performers spend countless hours on painstakingly accurate reproductions of their characters’ costumes, special theme nights, set fabrication, and promotions. Some of them have been involved with this community for over 35 years, and consider each other to be family.
Over the last six years I’ve visited ten states, photographed over 140 people in their homes, and attended countless live shows and the result is the first comprehensive documentation of the people behind this cult phenomenon ever! This September this movie will celebrate it’s 40th anniversary, and I’m currently raising funds on Indie GoGo to release a book to coincide with it.
