Every comment or post or picture on this website that has some conservative attributes to it is downvoted to hell. It doesn't make much sense, especially since most users on here preach equality and peace.

We live in a modern society, therefore everything old and ancient is being frowned upon while everything that's new and modern is praised. Sometimes it works for the better, sometimes for worse.
I think the Dictionary definition speaks volumes:
1. averse to change or innovation and holding traditional values.
2. (in a political context) favouring free enterprise, private ownership, and socially traditional ideas.
Although I would like to point out that the political aspect can depend on what country you are in. What works for one culture can destroy another.
I think a lot of it is understanding (or lack of).
The political divide in some countries (Such as the USA & the UK) will only grow larger.
The conservative become increasingly convinced that the liberals want society to descend in state of debauchery like a scene from Caligula. And the liberals think that the conservative want women to stay at home, people of colour out of the country and live in a state similar to 1940's Germany.
And don't you dare say you are down the middle!!!
When there is only a 2 party system, you are doomed to fail. People seem to think that everything is one way or the other. Take for example, immigration. If your against it, you're automatically racist. If your for it, your unpatriotic.
If it wasn't for immigration I wouldn't exist, but I think it needs to be regulated in my country. Immigration allows for exploitation, then everyone looses!
The funny thing is, a lot of today's conservative were yesteryear's liberals.
Conservative views often include wanting to take others rights away and go back to traditional values. Like womens rights to safe abortion, same sex rights to marriage and adoption, equality in the workplace etc. Often they are traditional values that impose on others beliefs and rights.
They're Biblical truths that sinful people don't want to live by.
Because conservative views closely align themselves with Christian and white supremacist views. Where they want to roll back rights for minorities, women, LGBTQ, and Atheist. In the name of "family values" they also try to ban odd things like nudity on tv but are ok with extreme violence in shows. They also protest anytime there are LGBTQ characters in shows, like the backlash over LeFou in the remake of Beauty and the Beast, The Lesbian couple in the Campbell's soup commercial, Will and Grace, and others. They also protested interracial couples in media, Atheist characters, and basically protest and get angry over anything that does not fit in their shrinking little bubble.
Just because some conservatives are like that doesn't mean that that's what a conservative is. That's like calling all liberals bad because of a few crazy SJWs
Are all conservatives republican? What about Christianity, are all conservatives Christians, or is it like a Venn diagram, where the three can converge but not always at the same time? 🤔I knew a guy once who thought being conservative meant supporting conserving energy and saving water and stuff. Conserving electricity.
Not nesscarily my Dad a very smart man btw is a very active and proud Christain but more of a progressive democrat. Its not really held in stone christan=republican and vice versa its just how you feel.
