As fascinating as nature and wildlife photography can be, there are often beautiful and unforgettable things that happen behind the lens as well. Usually, these can only be enjoyed by the photographers themselves, but occasionally, we're lucky enough to have a second photographer on the scene to capture these special moments. These photos are some of the weirdest, funniest, scariest and most beautiful moments that we've ever seen behind the scenes in nature and wildlife photography.

If you've ever captured a special moment behind the scenes, we'd love to see it. Please share it with us by adding it to this list – and upvote your favorites, too!

I'm guessing this man is a gentle soul; else that Cheetah wouldn't be lying next to him. What a thrill that would be!

I think....this is one brave man. (or else, he's too terrified to move). Either way, FANTASTIC photo!

This one is kinda awfully sad. This poor oran-goutan should be in nature not prisoner behind a glass waiting for people to either laugh at him and make silly faces to him or to show some compassion to him.

I love the dedication. As I look at these and I realize I am so grateful for people like these photographers who are documenting are wonderful wildlife, which need to be revered and protected.

i think that we are fools to be destroying our mother earth when all these beautiful creatures, and our own beautiful children will suffer.

In Hungary, a small "Zagyva" River shore (near the town of Szolnok), in the summer, very many of the mosquito. It's easy photography - but it should be a good macro lens. I sit on the grass, and my knee soon pass the mosquito.
