We are ALWAYS in the kitchen. We have 4 kids, so something needs to be prepared, or eaten, or cleaned at all times.
Pancakes are a staple because they are cheap and delicious. We have quite literally made hundreds of billions of pancakes in our kitchen. During that time, we have gotten a spatula stuck in a drawer more than once and, as is always the case, frequency increases as urgency increases. So one night after a batch of pancakes sat burning on our griddle I run in to grab a spatula to flip and end up hulk-smashing the drawer just to get to the jammed utensils (have I mentioned I am not super patient?)
We decided there had to be a better way to store utensils. We came up with the Magnetic Utensil Set with a magnetic rack that mounted to surfaces in your kitchen. The utensils would attach and release from the magnetic rack using nothing but science – with no chance of getting hung up.
This set involved a lot of: late nights, sketching, wood working, clay molding, CAD modeling, 3D printing, and an impromptu trip to the other side of the world to get them made.
We did it. And the first thing we did afterwards was make a batch of perfect pancakes. NBD.
