I visited the Ohio State Reformatory, where the movie Shawshank Redemption was filmed. There were few people there and I was allowed to walk around by myself. The prison, which was ordered closed in 1990, has a history of being haunted. I can say that the place is VERY creepy, with lots of odd sounds and noises emanating from its dark corners and recesses. Built in 1896, at its peak the Ohio State Reformatory held 2,200 inmates.
