I am a street photographer and I live in Montreal.
I mostly do black & white photography
4 years ago i arrived in Montreal and I discovered the barber culture, the barber poles everywhere in the street with it blue, white and red line.
I am a girl I couldn’t come in. After months taking photo across the window i needed to get inside.
I terribly wanted to discover the culture, the tools, the barbers and their style.
Discover is across my photo-reportage.

Each barber has it own uniqueness.
Each barbershop has it own uniqueness.
There is barbershop for each culture.
The tools are the most personal thing to the barber.
People rarely change their barber.
After the shave, they put a hot towel on your face for your skin.
A barber chair can live 500 years unless you oil it.
A barber has his barber chair, and he doesn’t change. This is his. It is personal.
A barber also do the hair. Actually they do hair the most.
The customer trust his barber.
He did not wand a photo but i couldn’t resist.
Most of barbers learned by themself. Firstly on friend, family and then by watching videos.
