For those of you that saw my earlier post of “The carving that started my life with my beautiful wife” this is a sort of continuation to that story.

I carved the Calla lily earlier which represented my wife when I proposed to her. Now I revisited the Calla lily as now a mother. We now have two kids Charlie and Oliver.

As you can see in this carving it is the mother Lily taking care of and protecting her little one, or child, from the elements as, hopefully, any mother would do to make sure their baby was well looked after and loved.

I carved the Lilies out of cherry, the stems from maple and the leaves from cedar. They are rooted in a piece of soapstone.

This took me, roughly, 40 hours to finish
