Vengeful Mom From Texas Gets Arrested For Poisoning Son’s Bully At School

Don’t poke mama bear or she might… poison you. A mother in the US was arrested for concocting a harmful drink for her son’s bully, resulting in the targeted child’s hospitalization.

45-year-old Jennifer Lynn Rossi, from Texas, was arrested earlier this week after a drink she made for her 10-year-old son’s bully sent him to the hospital, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, the law enforcement agency responsible for Bexar County, Texas.

The vengeful mom reportedly mixed lemon juice, vinegar, salt, and Gatorade in a sports bottle on Tuesday (March 5) and told her son to give it to a classmate who had stolen his drink the day before at Legacy Traditional School located in Alamo Ranch, approximately 20 miles northwest of downtown San Antonio, Texas, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by ABC News.

“The (son) stated the drink mixture was made due to the child stealing his drink the day prior and being bullied by the child… Rossi admitted to making the mixture due to her son… stating the child stole his drink and was bullying him,” the affidavit read.

Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said in their statement regarding the incident: “Upon arriving [at] the school, deputies learned that the sick child was given a drink by a classmate during P.E. class.”

Shortly after the child consumed the drink, he reportedly began experiencing nausea and a headache, and he was taken to a hospital, sheriff officials say, ABC News reported.

The sheriff’s statement further read: “Although the contents of the drink were non-toxic, the incident resulted in a child being hospitalized.

“Hospital staff informed the investigator that the child victim required additional medical monitoring and would eventually be discharged from the hospital.”

Officials went on to explain that during the incident’s investigation, which is still ongoing, the mother was found to be the parent of the student who provided the drink, saying that she “intentionally mixed the contents of the drink to allegedly prevent her son’s drink from being stolen at school by other students.”

According to the affidavit, as per KSAT, Rossi said she was a nurse and the drink was nontoxic.

Nevertheless, Rossi was arrested and booked into jail where she was charged with injury to a child causing bodily injury, ABC News reported.

The woman wouldn't have had to do this if the school would actually punish the bully.

Although I don't agree with the ingestion part, (who knows with allergies these days) I do agree with standing up to the bully. Like I tell my kids, report the issue first and if nothing is done, you have full right to protect yourself and your belongings however fit at that time.

How does lemon juice, salt, vinegar and Gatorade become poisonous, enough to require hospitalization and monitoring? Genuinely curious.

depends on the quantities. 10 teaspoons of salt all at once would kill you if you are an adult let alone a child. gatorade already has a decent amount of salt in it. Adding salt to that would probably not be a good thing,

1) 2 tablespoons of salt can kill a child. 2) Deliberately giving a child something to make them sick as a first step in resolving bullying is psycho. 3)This wasn't even a situation where the bully stole the drink - the other kid offered it to him. This is the kind of thing "pranksters" do, and rightly get called out as bullies for.

I am in complete agreement. An adult should be able to find a better way of addressing the situation, rather than potentially poisoning a child.
