This Viral Photo Of Multitasking Mom Sums Up Motherhood In One Pic

Last Friday, mom/photographer Melissa Wardlow was spotted at a high school football game with her kids. What she says was “just a normal day”, left the Internet in awe.

Wardlow was not only taking photos with her DSLR in one hand, and holding a milk bottle in the other, but she also had one kid strapped to her front, and the other strapped to her back. Not too shabby, huh? According to Wardlow, this was “just a normal day”. “I throw the kids on and away we go,” she told Dallas Morning News. “I started taking pictures before I had kids, and I was on the sideline when I was pregnant. It didn’t matter; I was on the sideline.”

The photo, captured by John F. Rhodes, was posted on Facebook by Dallas Morning News and has gone viral since, with over 18k likes and 10k shares.

Awesome picture, even though it probably is a bit too much. Multitasking, yes, but backpacking two children while working simply ought to be hard, even if there really was no way to arrange otherwise (I fully understand there sometimes isn't). And I do not like the political dimension this immediately is taken up to...yes, most of our Western societies still do a lousy job in combining parenting and work and typically women have to cope for that more than men (which is sad for both), but I would prefer a dicussion over making more of a picture than there actually is.

it has to be a fake for a couple of reasons 1. the kid on the back looks to be at least 4-5yrs old...no reason why he is on her back, he is old enough to walk and stand by his mother while she works. if he wont stay by her side becuase he just wants to run around all over the place..than thats her fault. 2. look at the bottle that she is trying to feed the baby in the front. a couple of things wrong here...1 its too big and 2 because its too big the baby cant get a good angle on it being so close to her mom in the front that it would be very hard for the baby to actually feed in that position. oh and by the way, i hvae 2 babies of my own a 3yr old and a 10month old and i would never try to carry both of them at one time mainly because my 3yr old can walk just fine and knows better than to leave my side. so im calling BS on this picture.
