This is Princess Cecily, and she lives at The Cattery Cat Shelter in Corpus Christi, Texas. Cecily is a Manx cat born with Manx syndrome. It doesn’t affect all Manx cats, but Cecily was the unlucky one of the litter. She has some organ abnormalities and her hind legs have been deformed. When her non-functional legs started to cause problems for her, they were amputated. Cecily walks on two front legs!

Aside from her legs, the only noticeable effect of her disability is that Cecily is incontinent and must wear a diaper. To keep it, a volunteer sewed a harness for her, which the cat got used to from an early age. And the volunteer continued sewing, making fabulous little clothes for Cecily to wear over the headgear. Her fashion sense has made Cecily an Instagram star.

Proceeds from Cecily’s social media accounts and sales of T-shirts and other merchandise continue to pay for her diapers and veterinary care. Princess Cecily is five years old now and is a permanent resident and ambassador for the shelter.
