The Last Turf Church of Hof
Like a scene out of fantasy movie, the little Village of Hof is known for its turf houses- houses that were built with turf roofs to protect settlers from bad weather. Such a building is the Hofskirkja Church, which was the last turf church to be built in this style and is one of six turf churches in Iceland still standing. Godafoss Waterfall
This spectacular vision is known as the “Waterfall of the Gods”. Located at North-Central Iceland, the extraordinary waterfall has an historical significance as this was where Þorgeir Þorkelsson, the lawspeaker of Iceland, decided the Iceland will be a Christian land in the year 1000 and dispensed of his heathen gods at this waterfall.
