I Traced Almost Every ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Filming Location And Took Some Photos To Show The Difference (13 Pics)
Over two trips to New Zealand, I managed to visit almost every Lord of the Rings filming location on both the North and South islands.
Here are the shots that I was best able to recreate and that lined up with scenes from the movies!

It definitely looks a bit different now but I think it's a combination of the fact that it's more overgrown and some of it in the movie may have been CGI.

It's a lot more overgrown since then but it is the same location! They discuss it in the behind the scenes appendices.
