Somebody Compared The Lion King 2019 To The 1994 Animation Side By Side
1994 was a big year. Nelson Mandela became the President of South Africa, The Channel Tunnel between England and France opened after six years of construction. And, of course, Disney released The Lion King, which eventually became the highest-grossing animated film ever (now, 4th).

2019
During the NFL’s traditional Thanksgiving primetime game in the US., the company released the first teaser trailer of the Lion King 2019 remake, scheduled to come out next summer, and everyone’s losing their minds.

2019
A lot of fans were incredibly happy to hear it’s narrated by James Earl Jones, who plays king Mufasa in both the 1994 Disney’s Lion King original and next year’s film. But arguably the most impressive thing about the teaser is how amazing the visuals look, not to mention everyone’s excitement in meeting the Lion King characters, such as Nala and Simba, once more.

To show how much technology has advanced over the past 24 years, someone has even created a video, comparing shots from the two releases side by side. Scroll down till the end to see the two Lion King movies video comparison.
Downvote as much as you want... but for me.... 1994 one > 2019 one
Judging by the above - so much more character and facial expression in the original animation.
And more color in the original!
But you haven't seen the 2019 one yet
Isn't it interesting that the one person who IS down-voted is the one who actually points out the logical flaw in the argument. I refuse to allow others to tell me what is good, what is bad, what films to watch, books to read and perspectives to believe. I will do my own research, and choose what is good and what is bad by the art itself. To do any less, cheapens the art that is to be recognized as good.
I basically agree - you shouldn't judge if you#re not even trying to see the other version. But for me, the idea of realistic animals doing all the things the cartoons did is just so wrong! They sing and dance and dress in hula-drag, do we get to see all that as well in the CGI-Version? Because if so, that's ... kinda very wrong. Animals don't do that - they also don't avenge the death of their fathers, though they do kill other lions when they want to get the pride. But I'd really like to see how Scar turns out.
Damn right. <3
The truth never should been downvoted!
Disney has abandoned traditional 2D animation and gone full CGI. No more Disney for me! CGI is cute, but 2D animation will always have a charm and artistry that CGI will never match.
Is anyone else all ready preparing themselves to relive mufasas death all over again? Bc I'm trying to be ready.
I've bought a stock of tissues...
I almost cried only because of your comment. I don't think I'll ever be prepared for it.
Seriously! That is the scene that gets me the most by far out of every single Disney movie. Every. Single. Time!
What can I say? I´m not over it yet after 24 years...
Now it will be even more realistic. 😢 I will never ever watch this movie again. I think it is even unsuitable for children... I was a child in 1994, I was devastated by his death and couldn't get over it for years. Like, sb says 'The Lion King ... this&that...great movie, etc.' And I'm like 'yeah, but what about the father, the FATHER'. The scene was too cruel...
I was in my teens in 1994, and I seriously struggled with the death scene. My own father is gone, and seeing simba snuggle up to his dead father for comfort, argh, I can't..
I watched Lion King like hundreds of times when I was a kid, but I saw Mufasa's death scene only once or twice. I always fast-forwarded it on VCR, because I just couldn't watch it
I had to watch the movie three times when it first came out in cinemas, because I was so devastated by his death I couldn't enjoy the rest of the movie!
We'll never be ready...
It looks so realistic it’s acuallly scary. Amazing but The poor kids 😅
